The Grants Council Election Town Hall will be hosted on Tuesday, June 11th from 1pm - 2pm ET / 5pm - 6pm GMT.

You can find the invite via the public Governance Calendar.

As of now, the structure of the Town Hall will be each nominee will have 60 seconds to answer one question from the Foundation:

  • What unique skills or habits will you bring to the Grants Council to ensure it delivers measurable impact towards the approved KPIs?

Builder Experience KPIs:

  • NPS of finalists > 9/10
  • Quality applicants, the Grants Council is unable to support less than 5%
    • “Unable to support” Qualified applications are those that meet the criteria but weren’t supported due to budget constraints, tier limitations requiring Foundation intervention, or applications lost during the review process.

Grant Performance KPIs:

  • Intent 1 Commit a 5% increase on the votable supply
  • Intent 3 Increase active developers driving the network by 150 (pending revision of how this is measured)
  • 5 OP Chain grants programs launched
  • Number of grants that have to be clawed back for failure to meet milestones less than 5%

Self-nominees who aren’t able to attend live may share a <60 second video answering the question above.

If you’re a delegate, and you’re interested in asking a question to all self-nominees during the Town Hall please comment it below. If time allows, one question at random will be picked from the list of delegate questions in this thread.

If you have specific questions for specific nominees, please comment them below as well and council nominees may answer the questions async.

As a reminder, candidate assessments will take place until June 12th, and the Voting Period for elections will take place from June 13th - June 20th.

Yep! Thanks for asking - an invite was just sent out to all self-nominees with a calendar hold for the Grants Council Election Townhall next week that includes the meeting link  - the link can also be found via the public Governance Calendar.

Hi @maxwell sorry I couldn’t attend the calendar due to late night hours, as mentioned to send 60 seconds video, where should I send it?

Hi! Just to mention than in this other post @Antoine did apply for a specific sub-committee (as Mission Reviewer), and it seems than when they copied their application, that part was unintentionally left out (the rest of the application seems to be exactly the same).

@system

Nice; wish all a great Sunday

Hey @fujiar no worries at all. If you could reply to the email invitation you received for the Election Town Hall call with the video (or a link to a google drive with the video), that would be perfect.

As a reminder, the video should be less than 1 minute long and address the question: what unique skills or habits will you bring to the Grants Council to ensure it delivers measurable impact towards the approved KPIs?

The video will be played live during the recorded Election Town Hall. Thank you!

Hi,
thanks ! indeed I missed a part in the copy paste process.
Thanks for the support…
Antoine

Thank you to all the self-nominees who attended the Grants Council Season 6 Town Hall, and for those who submitted their statements ahead of time.

Here you’ll find an audio recording from the call.

You can also find a Feedback Thread, where any feedback about the Grants Council self-nomination process, election town hall, or overall process would be much appreciated.

Since there is not one forum post per election I will make 4 different ones here, as a communication towards my delegators, regarding my votes.

Starting with the Audit Reviewer council.

I will be voting for @m4rio.eth and @AnthiasLabs. Having read all 4 nominations I believe these 2 candidates to be the most technically suitable for the job

For the Milestones and Metrics Reviewer election I will be voting for @LauNaMu, @Juanbug_PGov and @v3naru_Curia.

The last 2 because of their good work last season and very thoroughly written nominations.
Launamu because she is really capable, passionate and believe would benefit the collective if she were to take on this role.

For the Developer Advisory Board Elections I will be voting for @jtriley.eth @wildmolasses @devtooligan @blockdev and @alextnetto.eth

There is a lot of very good candidates in this election so it’s a hard vote.

Ultimately the choice lies with people that I have:

  • Either worked with directly or inderectly
  • People whose work I have seen online and respect their stance and values (@jtriley.eth keep your chin up and let nothing pull you down)
  • People who were recommended to me by others I trust.

EDIT: Does not let me post another response so I am editing this one for the final election.

And finally for the Mission Reviewer elections I will be voting for @katie @brichis @MattGov.eth @mastermojo @GFXlabs and jackanorak (did not tag since it went more than the limit of users in a post)

Again it was a difficult vote with many qualified applicants.

Ultimately the choice here lies with:

  • People that I previously worked with in the Optimism collective
  • People who visibly did a good work in their roles in the collective before.

Thank your encouragement and support!

This is a rationale from the SEED Latam delegation voting on cycle#23b, as we have communicated here, in conjunction with @Joxes, an Optimism delegate.

We have voted for @MattGov.eth, @Michael, @mastermojo, @GFXlabs, @jackanorak,@MoneyManDoug and @katie, who were members of the Grants Council last season and all did an excellent job. They will be key to maintaining outstanding performance in Season 6. Additionally, we have chosen @brichis, @Jrocki, Tane and Antoine for their combination of experience and alignment with Optimism. Finally, we voted for our candidate @habacuc.eth, who brings significant context from working internally with Joxes at the Grants Council during Season 5, along with a technical background related to the OP Stack. He is well-prepared to represent SEED Latam in this role.

We vote for mmurthy, v3naru_Curia and Juanbug_PGov because they participated in the Milestones and Metrics subcommittee of the Grants Council in previous seasons. Considering their positive performance and the necessary context and experience they have for the challenge of the new season, we reelect them for this season.

We vote for m4rio.eth and leo.sagan because both possess the technical knowledge required for the position.

Note: Sorry we couldn’t tag everyone because of forum rules.

Sorry for belated report. To begin with, we want to thank all the applicants. Here are our choices:

  • Grants Council Reviewer Elections: Mission Reviewer:

Given the importance of this committee, we gave our vote in favor of the ones with great track record. Also, we kept in mind outstanding applications and the result is:
katie, @GFXlabs, @brichis
@jackanorak, @MattGov.eth, @Michael, and @Boardroom

  • Grants Council Reviewer Elections: Milestones and Metrics Reviewer:

First of all, mmurthy, v3naru_Curia and Juanbug_PGov were successful last season. That’s why, they are the biggest candidates of the election. However, Launamu also deserves this position with its experience and operational expertise. Therefore, as ITU Blockchain we voted for @Juanbug_PGov, @v3naru_Curia, @mmurthy and @LauNaMu.

  • Grants Council Reviewer Elections: Audit Reviewer:

We found AnthiasLabs suitable for this role because their background is great. In addition, being a risk partner with Ionic Money, which deals with risk management and deals with OP Superchain, also made them stand out. We think that they can be fully channeled here, as their delegate profile is also significantly good. We also liked their opinions on job applications and job requests, so we chose Anthaniaslabs as the one that would best suit this role.
