Application for Milestones and Metrics Council – Reviewer Role

Gm, I’m excited to submit this application for the Reviewer role on the Milestones and Metrics Council. Backed by StableLab, I bring a combination of deep governance expertise, operational excellence, and a commitment to Optimism’s mission.

Optimist Profile

You can find more about StableLab’s active role in Optimism governance here. As a Citizen since Season-2 I’ve optimistically participated in the allocation and scoping rounds since. Our 100% voting record underscores our commitment to informed and consistent participation in governance decisions. Atlas Profile (mel.eth); StableLab Delegate Communication Record

Contributions Demonstrating Eligibility

Expertise: I am an engineer and architect by education with over a decade in applying complex information processing concepts to multiyear capital allocation modals for civil and private construction financing projects in NYC and abroad, generally in the $100MM range. Joining this experience with the support of StableLab’s proven track record in applied governance frameworks, including designing incentive programs and smart contract mechanisms that ensure automated and transparent milestone assessments. Through our proprietary Forse analytics platform, we equip DAOs with actionable insights by automating the monitoring and reporting of protocol metrics in real time, enabling data-driven decision-making for milestones and outcomes. Additionally with StableLab’s support I’ve sought to operationalize innovative legitimacy metrics for DAOs; for those that enjoy 29 pages of math and theory you can find it here.

Reputation: StableLab is a recognized leader in DAO governance, collaborating deeply with protocols like MakerDAO, Aave, Arbitrum, Compound, and Uniswap to enhance operational efficiency. Notably well in advance of joining StableLab, I’ve contributed consistently to Optimism RPGF allocations and accountability since Round 2, helping refine key metrics for iterative retroactive rounds. I help support multiple DAOs as measured by top 1% of treasury holdings; with StableLab in support we seek to lift dozens of DeFi and L2 DAOs and thousands of key deciders with data and metrics. This reflects our team’s natural alignment with Optimism’s vision and our expertise in designing governance frameworks with measurable outcomes.

Impartiality: I will maintain strict objectivity and fairness in assessing metrics and outcomes. I will evaluate projects based on merit and alignment with established goals, ensuring unbiased milestone evaluations using onchain data when available.

Operational Security: I will adhere to industry-best practices in operational security, ensuring reliability in Safe multisig wallet management, secure voting spaces, and robust terminal uptime. My operational track record demonstrates the precision and accountability required for the Reviewer role.

Conflicts of Interest

I operate across various DAO ecosystems and maintain neutrality and professional integrity in all roles. I have no conflicts of interest that would impact my impartiality or decision-making within the Milestones and Metrics Council.

Representative Removal Acknowledgment

I understand that I may be removed from this role via the Representative Removal proposal type in the Operating Manual.

KYC Compliance

I understand that KYC verification will be required to receive Council rewards at the end of Season 7.

Agreement with the Foundation

I understand that I will need to sign an agreement with the Foundation prior to onboarding.

Grant Policy Compliance

I understand that I will be responsible for delivering grants in accordance with the Collective Grant Policies and following any reporting/accounting requirements set by the Foundation.

Time Commitment

I commit to dedicating 15 hours per week to Council responsibilities. StableLab’s team structure ensures that we can meet these commitments consistently, allowing us to focus on timely milestone evaluations and active participation in all Council activities.

My Optimistic Vision

I, nominated and supported in this capacity by StableLab, am deeply committed to enhancing the Optimism Collective’s transparency and efficiency. By leveraging my expertise in governance systems, milestone validation, and impact measurement, I aim to ensure measurable and transparent outcomes for grants and initiatives.

I am excited to apply for reviewer role in the Milestone and Metrics council for Season 7. I was grateful to be part of Season 5 and Season 6 milestone council and would like to continue contributing to the MaM council in Season 7.

My Optimist Profile can be seen here.

I believe I am qualified to apply for this role based on the following criteria:

Expertise: Proficiency in measurement, evaluation, data analysis, and reporting.

I have spent the last year deep in the grants ecosystem and have built a product through my company for grantee accountability and impact measurement. Hundreds of grantees and grant operators utilize our product on a daily basis. I live and breathe milestones and evaluation on a daily basis. I have applied lot of these learnings as member of the council in Season 5 and Season 6 and would like to continue adding value.

If have spent a lot of time thinking and building impact measurement tools. If elected, I also want to work with Jun (the MAM council lead) on utilizing the Theory of Change framework to improve impact measurement of the grants.

I am also a software engineer by background and am comfortable with multiple programming languages including Solidity. I believe this skillset will continue to be valuable while evaluating highly technical projects funded by the grants council.

Reputation: Known and trusted individuals or entities with a demonstrated alignment with the Optimistic Vision.

Two things that demonstrate alignment with Optimistic Vision are:

1. Building Governance and Grants products

I’m a builder in the Optimism ecosystem and have built and continued to manage a number of products over the last two years which I believe has added lot of value to the ecosystem. Below are few products our team has built:

  • Karma Delegate Dashboard - Dashboard to provide visibility and accountability into delegate activity, facilitate delegate discovery and delegation for tokenholders.
  • DAO Delegate Registry - Onchain delegate registry on Optimism we built in collaboration with other DAO tooling companies. The registry has already been integrated into delegate dashboard.
  • GAP - Grantee Accountability Protocol to let grantees post milestones and updates onchain through EAS on Optimism.

2. Optimism Milestone and Metrics council member in Season 5 and Season 6.
As part of the MAM council in past two seasons, I collaborated with other council members and evaluated hundreds of milestones of grants from past seasons on time and have successfully facilitated grant disbursal upon successful completion.

Impartiality: Ability to maintain objectivity and fairness in assessing grant outcomes.

I am confident in my ability to maintain objectivity and fairness in my assessments to the best of my abilities. In most cases, the data speaks the truth. In situations where nuances are involved, I will make every effort to consult with peers and experts to arrive at the right decision.

Alignment: Disclose all conflicts of interest that could impact impartial decision-making.

I’m not aware of any conflicts of interest. In the previous seasons, whenever there has been even a small chance of conflict of interest, I have clearly communicated with other council members and reclused myself of evaluating the grants.

Secure: Maintain good industry standard Operational Security practices with regards to multisig signing.

I have been in the crypto space since 2017 using DeFi and other onchain protocols regularly. I have learned and followed best security practices and feel confident of continuing to follow those practices as a council member.

Optimism Profile: https://atlas.optimism.io/akrtws

GM everyone, I am Angela Kreitenweis, and this is my self-nomination for the reviewer role on the Milestones and Metrics Council. As an Optimism grantee with a strong background in token engineering, I bring a unique combination of technical expertise and hands-on experience. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the Milestones and Metrics Council, setting new benchmarks for tracking and measuring impact in the crypto space.

Expertise: Proficiency in measurement, evaluation, data analysis, and reporting.

  • Evaluation: a) As an Optimism grantee, I understand the importance of clear objectives and fair reviews for success; b) over the past months, I built a six-step evaluation framework for Optimism Retro Funding, including system models and simulations to model impact and manage risk; c) during my time at VCs, I designed and implemented KPIs to assess early stage startups and guide seed investment decisions, typically $500K+ per investment.
  • Automation: as a founder at TE Academy, I established a reputation system for TE Academy’s community. It processes on-chain and offchain data and updates individual reputation according to ever-changing state of the network (Dynamic Network-Weight Scaling). It combines incentives for the individual with rewards to make the total network value grow, a pattern that fits well with Optimism’s goal of growing TVL.
  • Milestones and TVL: as a token engineer, I analyzed dozens of projects, whitepapers and token mechanisms, such as vesting, staking, locking, etc. to assess their impact on token value locked (TVL) in the short-/medium-/and long-term
  • Metrics: I have a deep understanding in token analytics, collaborating with analysts from Messari, Artemis, Tokenomist and others. This includes measuring TVL, and deriving meaningful sub-metrics to track a project’s performance in growing TVL

Reputation: Known and trusted individuals or entities with a demonstrated alignment with the Optimistic Vision.

Impartiality: Ability to maintain objectivity and fairness in assessing grant outcomes.

Alignment: Disclose all conflicts of interest that could impact impartial decision-making.

  • I have no conflicts of interest
  • Impartial decision-making is a principle I hold deeply, as it not only ensures fairness but also strengthens the credibility and impact of the Milestones and Metrics Council
  • Should potential conflicts of interest arise I’ll openly communicate without delay and recuse myself where necessary.

Secure: Maintain good industry standard Operational Security practices with regards to multisig signing.

  • I have been active in the crypto space since 2016, participating in token launches, testing multiple distribution mechanisms and utilizing DeFi protocols as a token engineer
  • In 2021–2022, I served as multisig keyholder of the Fraud Detection and Defense workstream at Gitcoin
  • Between 2020–2024, I established security practices and managed keys for acquiring and distributing $1M in contributor rewards and fellowship grants
