SEED Latam:

Please describe your philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application:
Our philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application revolves around a comprehensive understanding and alignment with the Intents set for the Optimism Season 6. In our experience, successful proposers should take the time to comprehend the multiple stages of the Season 6 calendar, actively participate in office hours to clarify any doubts and consistently seek feedback from reviewers. This proactive approach helps develop a strategy that benefits all stakeholders.

In terms of specific attributes of a good Mission Application, it should:

  1. Align with the Optimistic Vision
  2. Detailed Impact and Execution
  3. Detailed and Reasonable Cost Structure
  4. Manage Expectations and Risks
  5. Focus on Community and Sustainability
  6. Support the open-source philosophy

On the other hand, applications that are less effective usually tend to ignore traction, set unclear distributions plans, and incentives that seem suspiciously mercenary, targeting multiple ecosystems without dedicated focus on adding long-term value to Optimism.

What types of Mission Requests do you think will help achieve the Season 6 Intents?:
For Intent 1: Progress Towards Decentralization, we think the first two topics can directly increase the OP votable supply while the next two can increase reliability of the OP governance process:

  1. Advanced delegation integrated on dedicated OP governance dapps
  2. Novel User Interfaces to facilitate delegation for Retro Funding recipients and OP holders.
  3. Integration of impact measurements currently used in OP governance.
  4. Onchain mechanisms to prevent Sybil attacks and collusion

For Intent 3: Grow application devs on the Superchain, we look for Missions that can bring active developers building novel products and experiences, including:

  1. Reliable and effective cross-chain interactions for DeFi, Stablecoins and Attestations.
  2. Integration of Account Abstraction tooling for use cases that reduce the friction on OP dapps.
  3. Novel games and ambitious applications leveraging the most efficient tooling available in the Superchain.
  4. Growth experiments focused on expanding gaming in the Superchain.
  5. Leverage of the Superchain infrastructure by projects integrating ML/AI in scientific research.
