Do you have a technical background?: No, however, I do have other skills that can be useful for serving on the Grants Council.

Please demonstrate any non-Optimism experience you believe is relevant to this role and/or your sub-committee:
I have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and have held various positions in the restaurant business, ranging from waitress to Head of HR. This diverse experience has equipped me with a wide range of skills, including soft skills. My first position in web3 was as a community manager, further broadening my adaptability.

Have you previously served in a representative (appointed or elected) role in the Collective? If so, please specify which:

Please outline your contributions, and their impact, to the Optimism ecosystem to date:

I have been a speaker and have hosted multiple sessions on Optimism Governance, including Missions and Grants in Season 5. I have also started recording and sharing content about it in Spanish and English. Additionally, I have accompanied multiple applicants during the process, becoming a go-to person for those wanting to apply for a grant, always pointing towards the Grants Council as the source of truth. On several occasions, I have been interviewed by projects that have applied for grants and sought feedback from a Governance Participant or an Optimism Community member.

According to SEED LATAM’s analysis, I was the person who sponsored the most Missions last season and I am in the top 5 delegates with the highest number of approvals.

Please describe your philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application:
A good Mission Application should be concise and highlight the most important points of the proposal. It should align seamlessly with the objectives of the program and demonstrate a logical connection between the budget requested and what is being proposed. The application should be backed by an experienced team, or by a team looking to experiment with low amounts. Additionally, it should be evident that the person who wrote it has clearly read and understood the key points of the program. Overall, a good application balances clarity, alignment, feasibility, and comprehension.

What types of Mission Requests do you think will help achieve the Season 6 Intents?:
I believe that realizing some of the Suggested Mission Requests will be instrumental in achieving the Season 6 Intents.

Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest: If you are a top 25 delegate in another ecosystem, hold an elected position in another DAO, and/or are a multisig signer in another community please disclose here.

I’m a signer of the Ethereum México multisig.

Please verify that you understand you may be removed from this role via the Representative Removal proposal type in the Operating Manual: Yes, I understand.

Please verify that you understand KYC will be required to receive Council rewards at the end of Season 6: Yes, I understand.

Please verify that you are able to commit ~20 hours / week to reviewing grant applications and other Council operations: I am able to commit the amount of hours that the GC requires.

Grants Council Self-Nomination

Hello OP community, I contributed to the Grants council as part of the Season 5 Milestones and Metrics subcommittee member and would love to contribute to the collective again in Season 6.

Council sub-committee: Milestones and Metrics subcommittee

If you are a delegate, please provide the link to your delegate profile: Not a delegate

If you are a delegate, please indicate what % of votable supply is delegated to you: N/A

If you are a delegate, please indicate your voting participation rate in OP governance to date: (You may link to your profile on Karma , if applicable.) N/A

Please link to your voting history and any voting rationale you’ve shared: N/A

Do you have a technical background?: If so, please elaborate

Yes, I am a full stack developer by profession. I have been writing code for a really long time. These days, I spend my dev time programming contracts in Solidity. In 2017, I started a website to teach blockchain programming to developers and ran it for 5 years. I am comfortable reading code in most programming languages, can fully read and understand smart contracts. In the past, I have architected and built highly scalable systems from scratch. I have been in the crypto space for close to a decade, have deep understanding of various protocols at a technical level.

As part of Season 5 Milestone and Metrics subcommittee, I was able to play a crucial role in evaluating technical projects (apart from other projects), inspect code contributions when needed and test and evaluate the projects. Having a strong technical skillset enabled me to accomplish the subcommittee tasks thoroughly.

Please demonstrate any non-Optimism experience you believe is relevant to this role and/or your sub-committee:

At Karma, we’ve received grants from Optimism and numerous other DAOs for our products over the last two years. I have gained firsthand experience with the entire grant process from the application, grant decision to post grant process. I believe I deeply understand the strengths and weaknesses of the programs across many DAOs.

Through building our product GAP, I interact with many grantees and program managers on a daily basis. One of the core features of GAP protocol is to help grantees with milestones and tracking.

All these experiences make me an ideal candidate to continue carrying out the work I and other subcommittee members started in Season 5.

Have you previously served in a representative (appointed or elected) role in the Collective? If so, please specify which:
Yes, I was one of the three members of the Milestone and Metrics subcommittee along with @Juanbug_PGov and @v3naru_Curia.

Please outline your contributions, and their impact, to the Optimism ecosystem to date:
I have contributed to the Optimism ecosystem by building a number of products which are all being actively maintained. Below are few products our team has built:

  1. Karma Delegate Dashboard - Dashboard to provide visibility and accountability into delegate activity, facilitate delegate discovery and delegation for tokenholders. You can see this dashboard being used by few delegates in this very same thread to show their stats/activity

  2. Snapshot Proposal gating - Built using EAS on Optimism, community members can endorse who can create proposals on Snapshot.

  3. DAO Delegate Registry - Onchain delegate registry on Optimism we built in collaboration with other DAO tooling companies. The registry has already been integrated into delegate dashboard.

  4. GAP - Grantee Accountability Protocol to let grantees post milestones and updates onchain through EAS on Optimism. This is being used by a number of communities such as Gitcoin, Public Nouns and Pokt. Grantees from these communities have been using this protocol and application to keep their communities updated on their progress and impact.

  5. Season 5 Milestones and Metrics subcommittee: I was part of the 3 member subcommittee. We were able to successfully evaluate hundreds of application milestones and updates throughout the entire season. My responsibilities included evaluating project milestones, evaluate them on completion, follow-up with projects and resolve any conflicts with builders that arose during the season.

Please describe your philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application:

A good mission application clearly articulates how it will accomplish its mission. It should precisely define the problem and present a well-thought-out solution. Additionally, it must explain how the project will achieve adoption, detailing the strategies and actions to engage users and stakeholders. The application should outline the various phases of the project, providing clarity on the milestones and timeline. It should also specify the immediate outcomes and how these will be measured. Lastly, the application should address the long-term impact, demonstrating the project’s sustainability and lasting benefits.

What types of Mission Requests do you think will help achieve the Season 6 Intents?:

For progressing decentralization, I am interested in projects focusing on Governance that can help the voting power dissipate to more delegates instead of being concentrated among few top delegates.

For bringing more application developers, I would love to see more projects in socialfi and NFT space. With the cost of transacting on Optimism even less post eip-4844, many fully onchain applications can be built.

Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest: None

Please verify that you understand you may be removed from this role via the Representative Removal proposal type in the Operating Manual : Yes, I understand.

Please verify that you understand KYC will be required to receive Council rewards at the end of Season 6:: Yes, I understand

Please verify that you are able to commit ~20 hours / week to reviewing grant applications and other Council operations: Yes, I’m able to commit ~20hrs/week.

SEED Latam:

Please describe your philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application:
Our philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application revolves around a comprehensive understanding and alignment with the Intents set for the Optimism Season 6. In our experience, successful proposers should take the time to comprehend the multiple stages of the Season 6 calendar, actively participate in office hours to clarify any doubts and consistently seek feedback from reviewers. This proactive approach helps develop a strategy that benefits all stakeholders.

In terms of specific attributes of a good Mission Application, it should:

  1. Align with the Optimistic Vision
  2. Detailed Impact and Execution
  3. Detailed and Reasonable Cost Structure
  4. Manage Expectations and Risks
  5. Focus on Community and Sustainability
  6. Support the open-source philosophy

On the other hand, applications that are less effective usually tend to ignore traction, set unclear distributions plans, and incentives that seem suspiciously mercenary, targeting multiple ecosystems without dedicated focus on adding long-term value to Optimism.

What types of Mission Requests do you think will help achieve the Season 6 Intents?:
For Intent 1: Progress Towards Decentralization, we think the first two topics can directly increase the OP votable supply while the next two can increase reliability of the OP governance process:

  1. Advanced delegation integrated on dedicated OP governance dapps
  2. Novel User Interfaces to facilitate delegation for Retro Funding recipients and OP holders.
  3. Integration of impact measurements currently used in OP governance.
  4. Onchain mechanisms to prevent Sybil attacks and collusion

For Intent 3: Grow application devs on the Superchain, we look for Missions that can bring active developers building novel products and experiences, including:

  1. Reliable and effective cross-chain interactions for DeFi, Stablecoins and Attestations.
  2. Integration of Account Abstraction tooling for use cases that reduce the friction on OP dapps.
  3. Novel games and ambitious applications leveraging the most efficient tooling available in the Superchain.
  4. Growth experiments focused on expanding gaming in the Superchain.
  5. Leverage of the Superchain infrastructure by projects integrating ML/AI in scientific research.

Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest: If you are a top 25 delegate in another ecosystem, hold an elected position in another DAO, and/or are a multisig signer in another community please disclose here.

@Derbygold.eth Your application is quite impressive, but bear in mind that in order to comply with the Self-Nomintation, you must select only one subcommittee. In your case, either as an “Optimism Mission Reviewer” (the top 3 ranked become “Superchain MIssion Reviewers”, there is no need to self-nominate for that particular position) or a “Milestones & Metrics Reviewer”.

I wanted to bring this to your attention because I believe all applications deserves thorough consideration, and it would be unfortunate if this detail were to impact negatively in any way.

Great application! but bear in mind that in order to comply with the Self-Nomintation, you must select only one subcommittee. • Assist OP foundation on Retro Delegate Rewards: Season 4 on auditing eligiblity list based on our onchain data

  • Assist OP foundation on Season 5: Retro Governance Participation Rewards on auditing eligiblity list based on our onchain data

  • Milestones and Metrics subcommittee: As part of the previous M&M subcommittee, we were able to successfully evaluate hundreds of application milestones and updates throughout the entire season. Our responsibilities included evaluating applicant project milestones in S5, evaluate previous seasons grantee on their milestones completion, follow-up with projects and resolve any conflicts with the grantees that arose during the previous seasons.

  • Active OP governance participants since Season 3, I’ve helped sponsored mission request, submitting proposals for approvals, and engaged in other governance initiatives and activities (RPGF3, Governance Calls, etc.). These has given me a solid grasp of what’s happening on the ground in the Optimism ecosystem, which is key for reviewing grant milestones.

Please demonstrate any non-Optimism experience you believe is relevant to this role and/or your sub-committee:

  • I have been engaging with the blockchain space since 2018, working across various roles that combine business savvy with analytics expertise. My experience with a Thai crypto startup unicorn has provided me with insights into the web3 economy and the factors that contribute to a successful venture in this space. This background has honed my critical thinking skills, which are vital for assessing the viability and potential impact of projects seeking grants.

This experience is directly relevant to the operations of the Optimism Grant Council, as it ensures a balanced evaluation of proposals and focusing on transparency, accountability, and the alignment of project goals with community interests.

Have you previously served in a representative (appointed or elected) role in the Collective?
Yes, I’ve served as Season 5 Milestones and Metrics subcommittee along with @Juanbug_PGov and @mmurthy.

Please describe your philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application:

Good Mission Application

A good mission application is characterized by its alignment with the long-term goals of the ecosystem it aims to support. It should drive genuine engagement, foster innovation, and facilitate sustainable growth within the community.

Strategic Alignment: Missions should support projects that are in sync with the overarching mission of the collective, contributing to a clear, shared vision for the future. This means funding initiatives that are not just beneficial in the short term but also contribute to the lasting development of the OP ecosystem.

Implementation Readiness: Good mission applications are backed by a robust plan of action. Proposals should come with a well-thought-out strategy for deployment, ensuring that the project can hit the ground running as soon as its approved.

Measurable Impact: The application must have clearly defined, achievable milestones that allow for tracking progress and evaluating success. This transparency ensures that the community can see the value generated by the grant over time.

Positive-Sum Outcomes: The mission application should be designed to be positive-sum, providing as much or more value to the collective as they do to the grant recipients. They should not be about one-off marketing stunts but about building something that brings lasting benefits to all stakeholders involved.

Community Engagement: A strong proposal is one that actively involves the community, not only in the decision-making process but also in the execution and feedback loops. This approach ensures that the projects funded are truly reflective of the community’s needs and aspirations.

Long-Term Contribution: Finally, grantees should see themselves as long-term contributor to the collective. The relationship should not end with the grant; it should be the beginning of an ongoing collaboration that helps grow the ecosystem for years to come.

In summary, I think a good grant is one that is well-planned, aligned with long-term ecosystem goals, involves the community, and can demonstrate its impact clearly and effectively.

What types of Mission Requests do you think will help achieve the Season 6 Intents?:

Season 6 Mission Requests

Here are some areas where I see them playing a crucial role in achieving Optimism Collective’s goals for season 6:

Intent 1:

  • Shifting Voting Power: A key focus for me is fostering a more balanced governance system. We need Mission Requests that address the concentration of voting power among a select few. Initiatives that incentivize delegation through partial delegate features or delegate incentive programs are crucial. Additionally, Mission Requests simplifying voter participation will broaden engagement.

  • Strengthening Retro Funding: Retro Funding is a powerful tool, but its effectiveness can be improved. Mission Requests that streamline the process are key. We need to empower applicants smooth onboarding and also tools that allow badgeholders to make better informed decision. Furthermore, Mission Requests that integrate impact measurement metrics already used in OP governance will help assess the true value of proven record projects.

Intent 3:

With transaction costs plummeting thanks to recent upgrades, Optimism is on the cusp of becoming a developer haven. To unlock this potential, we need Mission Requests that:

  • Developer Tools: Mission request that incentivize the development and integration developer tooling. This will significantly reduce friction for developers building dApps on Optimism.

Building a Thriving Superchain Ecosystem: I would also like to see mission request that empowers individual L2 chains within the Superchain to run their own grant programs. Mission Requests supporting this initiative will allow these chains to leverage their unique expertise and attract developers to their specific ecosystems, fostering a more diverse and vibrant Superchain overall.

Beyond DeFi:

While DeFi is crucial, Optimism can be so much more. Mission Requests that incentivize development in:

  • SocialFi and NFTs: Imagine a thriving social media and NFT landscape built on Optimism! Mission Requests supporting these burgeoning sectors could be a real game-changer.
  • Novel Applications: We need to push boundaries. Mission Requests that incentivize the development of novel on-chain games, AI/ML applications, and other innovative use cases will make Optimism a truly unique and future-proof ecosystem.

By focusing on these areas, S6 Mission Requests can be the catalyst for a more decentralized Optimism, a thriving developer ecosystem, and a diverse Superchain.

Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest:
None, and I’m happy to disclose any future potential conflicts of interest.

@m4rio.eth you may want to check this, as you are currently appliying to more than one sub-committee

@Sov @MattL You may want to edit the sub-comitee you are self-nominating to (as Superchain Mission Reviewers will be the top three ranked Mission Reviewers), and the application should only mention one subcommittee. It is a minor thing overall, but it would be a shame if your applications are affected negatively for this reason.

Please describe your philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application:

My philosophy on what constitutes a good mission application is centered on clarity, impact, and strategic alignment, with a special focus on DeFi. A standout application should present well-defined objectives and thoroughly outlined activities, making it easy for readers to understand regardless of their technical background. It is crucial to explain how the proposal will leverage blockchain to innovate in decentralized finance, providing specific details on success metrics and expected outcomes. Clear communication ensures that can easily visualize the path from implementation to positive impact on the ecosystem. This includes clear metrics showing scalability and long-term value creation. Additionally, the proposal should align with Optimism’s mission of fostering an inclusive and efficient blockchain ecosystem.

What types of Mission Requests do you think will help achieve the Season 6 Intents?:
promoting the missions that come out of the Season 6 intents and supporting the path of the builders to grow.

Descentralization with focus on Metagovernance. Promoting the missions that come out of the Season 6 intents and supporting the path of the builders to grow. Also, I would like to translate documents into Spanish to facilitate the onboarding of more hispanic builders.

Dan Singjoy Self-Nomination

Hey everyone, I’m excited to nominate myself to serve in the Grants Council. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks!

Do you have a technical background?:

Yes, I have an extensive technical background and have been working in Web3 since 2017. I build tools to help communities cooperate and have hosted meetings with developers every week for the past couple years. I write technical articles to explain software innovations and create educational content to make tools more accessible for wider audiences.

I manage the Optimism Fractal notion site including a Development Hub, where I’m coordinating the development of applications built on the OP Stack. As such, I’m deeply familiar with the challenges and opportunities of builders who are applying for grants. I’ve been working full time in the Optimism Collective for a year and have an detailed understanding of the Superchain ecosystem.

In addition, I’ve also created many websites and am experienced with HTML and CSS. I’ve experimented with smart contract development in command line interfaces and IDEs for dozens of hours. In my ten year career as a content creator I’ve developed deep expertise in many technical aspects of creative endeavors, including video livestreaming, media production, and sound engineering in electronic music. I am comfortable with Github, EVM, AI, and a wide variety of other technical tools.

On a related note, I created a grant proposal for the Builders Subcommittee in Cycle 15 of Season 4 and it reached the final stages of review. During this time I carefully read all the Grants Council procedures, relayed information while coordinating with team members, and communicated with several grants council reviewers. I became comfortable with Charmverse and am now closely following it’s development.

After making the proposal, I hosted several events where I shared presentations and provided detailed walkthroughs of the Grants Council Proposal processes with dozens of Web3 community leaders. Then I worked with my team to produce videos and articles of the walkthroughs, as you can see in the following links (1, 2, and 3). These articles provide an educational resource for anyone interested in participating in Optimism Grants Council programs.

In the Season 5, I created a Mission Request that was approved by delegates and this season I’m curating detailed overviews of Missions and related initiatives to help others understand the many opportunities in the Optimism Collective.

Please demonstrate any non-Optimism experience you believe is relevant to this role and/or your sub-committee:

  • I hosted Hot Sauce, a weekly news show covering technical developments in the EOS ecosystem. I did all the research for each show and wrote a detailed weekly reports about technical developments in the EOS Network Foundation’s Blog for six months.

  • I have been elected as a Chief Delegate and Delegate in Eden Elections to lead a community of over 400 members who conduct onchain fractal democracy elections and distribute funds to builders. This initiative raised approximately $1.5 million, which I helped distribute after being elected in three seasons. You can learn more about this community here.

  • I hosted educational interviews and open discussions with other builders of this community on a show called Eden Town Hall. This experience as a delegate and educator in another Web3 ecosystem provides me with experience to responsibly, efficiently, and effectively allocate funding for the benefit of a community.

Have you previously served in a representative (appointed or elected) role in the Collective? No

Please outline your contributions, and their impact, to the Optimism ecosystem to date:

  • Founder and host of Optimism Fractal, a community dedicated to fostering collaboration and awarding public good creators on Optimism. We host weekly events where builders in Superchain network, promote their work, and evaluate each other’s impact with onchain attestations in an innovative social game. Optimism Fractal is optimizing collective governance with a council and other decision-making processes enabled by Respect, a soulbound reputation token earned by helping Optimism. So far we’ve hosted 28 events where 39 industry leaders have made hundreds of onchain attestations with Optimism Fractal software. All events are recorded and produced with show notes for educational and entertainment purposes, as you can watch here.

  • Founder of Optimystics, a team of creators growing Optimism with communities, tools, games, shows, and events. I coordinate our team’s actions by working closely working with developers who build open-source coordination software on the OP Stack and creators who make exciting content about the Optimism Collective. In addition to Optimism Fractal we’ve also hosted several other helpful events for the Optimism Collective, such as RetroPitches. You can explore the blog, videos, and tools on the website linked above for details about our contributions to the Optimism ecosystem.

  • Creator and host of Optimism Town Hall, a collaborative forum dedicated to open and structured conversations about Optimism Collective governance. This innovative event is pioneering fun social games that enable community members to prioritize topics, deliberate democratically, and form consensus on key issues by voting with onchain reputation tokens. Everyone is welcome to join the weekly events on Thursdays at 18 UTC to participate in governance discussions, pioneer the future of community coordination, and help lead the Optimism Collective.

  • Founder and host of Eden Fractal, a community pioneering innovative consensus processes to optimize collective decision-making for two years. Eden Fractal has educated hundreds of people about group decision-making processes, fostered countless collaborations, and inspired the creation of dozens of communities. I’ve hosted 100 weekly events and educated many of community leaders about Optimism with live presentations and deep discussions. My team produced a lot of educational content about Optimism from the events, as you can see in this playlist.

  • Founder of Eden Creators, a media outlet and development shop focused on empowering communities with consensus games. In addition to producing Optimistic content from Eden Fractal meetings, I’ve published hundreds of articles in our Garden and videos on our youtube channel that provide foundational resources for the long-term success of the Optimism Collective.

Please describe your philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application:

A good Governance Fund grant should:

  • Provide unique value to the Optimism ecosystem
  • Have a clear objective and action plan to succeed
  • Provide clear milestones and KPIs that are easy to assess
  • Explain how funds raised will help accomplish the goal
  • Be communicated in an accurate and simple manner
  • Set an example that reflects well upon the Optimism Collective

What types of Mission Requests do you think will help achieve the Season 6 Intents?:

Mission Requests that attract builders and innovators to Optimism will help achieve the Season 6 Intents. The Superchain is poised for exponential growth and Optimism is well positioned to bring billions of people onchain. In order to maximize our impact we should focus on Mission Requests that progress towards decentralization, bring chains to the Superchain, and attract application devs to the Superchain.

Some specific types of Mission Requests that I believe will be especially helpful to support include:

  • Applications that facilitate decentralized coordination and collective governance

  • Tooling that enables the Optimism Collective to more effectively reward public goods creators in Retro Funding

  • Technical primitives that unlock novel use cases and remove barriers for builders to build amazing apps on the Superchain

Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest:

I don’t foresee any conflicts of interests at this time. If any potential conflicts of interest arise then I will communicate this immediately and act in the best interests of the Optimism Collective.

Please verify that you understand you may be removed from this role via the Representative Removal proposal type in the Operating Manual 1: Yes, I understand this.

Please verify that you understand KYC will be required to receive Council rewards at the end of Season 6: Yes, I understand this.

Please verify that you are able to commit ~20 hours / week to reviewing grant applications and other Council operations: Yes, I am able to commit to this.

Tané Season 6 Grants Council Self-Nomination

Hi, everyone. We are very excited to have a chance to apply for a grants program’s council that certainly makes significant and important impact on the whole ecosystem. We are welcome to hear any questions/opinions/feedback via our X or the rep (Takeshi)'s telegram. Thanks!

Council sub-committee:

Optimism Mission Reviewer

If you are a delegate, please provide the link to your delegate profile:

If you are a delegate, please indicate what % of votable supply is delegated to you:

1.11%

If you are a delegate, please indicate your voting participation rate in OP governance to date:

100%

Please link to your voting history and any voting rationale you’ve shared:

https://vote.optimism.io/delegates/tanegov.eth. We have also tracked all the voting history including each reasoning in our internal dashboard as well.

Do you have a technical background?:

Yes. The main representative from Tané, Takeshi was a senior software engineer for Twitter and other tech startups for 8 years. He worked on frontend (mobile web application and iOS app) and backend (Scala-based API services and data analysis platform). He has currently been responsible for operating blockchain nodes including Ethereum, Avalanche, EigenLayer/DA and Secret Network and various testnets including Celestia, Avail and upcoming projects, thus he is quite familiar with how the blockchain works at each infrastructure level. He was also a product manager for 6 years before joining Tané and closely working with various software engineers and other stakeholders for building mobile applications for 30M+ monthly active users. Check out his LinkedIn profile for his detailed work experience.

He will also be supported by the team of software and infrastructure engineers as well as startup serial entrepreneurs, data analysts and researchers at Tané.

Please demonstrate any non-Optimism experience you believe is relevant to this role and/or your sub-committee:

We have experience as a delegate on

  • dYdX (also a genesis validator for its v4 launch)
  • Arbitrum
  • Lido

Especially at Arbitrum, we have reviewed all the LTIPP and STIP Bridge applications as an incentivized delegate. Please see our recent activities on the Arbitrum DAO forum.

Other than the DAO governance related experience, we believe we are fit for the role because we started as a venture/incubator fund that has invested in and supported a number of important crypto projects and have developed our views in selecting great projects to contribute to the ecosystem. The expertise should be considered quite relevant to the crafted application selection.

Have you previously served in a representative (appointed or elected) role in the Collective?

Not as a representative, but we are one of the Top 100 delegates in Season 5 and approved important protocol upgrade proposals and Mission Requests.

Please outline your contributions, and their impact, to the Optimism ecosystem to date:

As described in the previous answer, we approved a number of the Mission Requests. We were also assigned to review all Intent #4 applications as well. We also diligently joined the governance calls and contributed to the discussions in them since our involvement with the Collective.

Please describe your philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application:

A strong Mission Application should demonstrably contribute to the growth and success of the Optimism ecosystem. We believe it’s important to verify projects clearly align with the Optimism Vision and Season 6 Intents.

Mission Applications should also articulate a clear pathway towards achieving positive impact on the Optimism ecosystem. This includes explaining how the requested grants will be used, how project execution will be optimized with focused priority and limited resources, and how impact will be accurately measured. Transparent reporting mechanisms are crucial.

While evaluating individual applications is important, the overall grant portfolio should also promote diversity within the Optimism ecosystem. We value projects that bring unique values to the ecosystem more than the ones that are similar to the projects the ecosystem already has.

What types of Mission Requests do you think will help achieve the Season 6 Intents?:

We are particularly excited about the Superchain level developments and relevant grants programs to be proposed. We believe the Collective should shift focus from only being a governance body on the main chain, OP Mainnet, but to being a true collective to support the growth of the chain ecosystem by utilizing the technology that OP Labs and other participants have built.

Other than the above, we like Michale’s idea of having “micro-grants” to support projects that promote diversity and experimental challenges to further the ecosystem growth.

Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest:

As said in the previous section, we have been acting as delegates for other DAOs, but are not a top delegate nor hold any elected position. We will abstain from evaluations and votings on projects that our investment arm has invested in.

Please verify that you understand you may be removed from this role via the Representative Removal proposal type in the Operating Manual:

Yes

Please verify that you understand KYC will be required to receive Council rewards at the end of Season 6:

Yes

Please verify that you are able to commit ~20 hours / week to reviewing grant applications and other Council operations:

Yes

That would be painfull  Let’s say that I start my journey.

If you are a delegate, please indicate your voting participation rate in OP governance to date: (You may link to your profile on Karma 7 3, if applicable.)

Same here: Not really active with this doxed Addy. I start my journey.

Please link to your voting history and any voting rationale you’ve shared: (You may link to your Snapshot and/or Agora profile for voting history. You may link to your delegate communication thread, or any other medium you use to communicate with your delegators, to share your voting rationale.)

My rationale are actually that we need to improve governance in the collective and leverage deliberative processes to do so.

See here particularly: https://mirror.xyz/antoinevergne.eth/3eqlNCnNsj-2ZeD9XsUdqe0_D5lnX-DZWuEh6IcUrzQ

And here: A Citizens' Assembly for RPGF4 — Antoine Vergne

Do you have a technical background?: If so, please elaborate

Not really. I used to code in HTML2 and 3 …. My technical background is in social technologies of collective decision making.

But: I mined BTC in 2011 (lost the computer), validate/d on 10+ chains among which are Cosmos, Matic, Presearch, Gnosis, Celestia, Near, Casper, etc.

Also I am regularly in the top 100 Debank profile and top 50 Degenscore (non-doxed addy). I use 50+ chains, my Nonce on Optimism in the in the thousands.

Please demonstrate any non-Optimism experience you believe is relevant to this role and/or your sub-committee:

I’m a seasoned project manager, and co-director of a company, I coordinated multiple complex projects reaching 10K+ citizens, leveraging 5M€ budgets, designing decision making.

I am also used to myself apply to grants on a regular basis so I know the drill from the user perspective.

Have you previously served in a representative (appointed or elected) role in the Collective? If so, please specify which:

Nope!

Please outline your contributions, and their impact, to the Optimism ecosystem to date:

I have started to work on the question of governance and its improvement. Particularly I am now working with the OP foundation on the first pilot of deliberative governance: Experimenting with Deliberative Processes in the Collective - #2 by abcoathup

Generally, I am contributing to the thinking and practice on how we manage to avoid falling in the same pitfalls as we have done in large sized representative governments. I think that Web3 can bring a lot to improve human collaboration at scale, but the risk is looming to fall back to nepotism, factions and apathy.

Please describe your philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application:

A good Missions application is not only about metrics, milestones, budget. It is about the mission and spirit of the team, about its mindset and alignment with the vision of the collective. You can have applications that are perfect on the paper but are extractive of the collective.

What types of Mission Requests do you think will help achieve the Season 6 Intents?:

I think that season 6 intent on the superchain will demand a high level of consensus finding and collaboration. Having mission requests around finding the best processes to do so is a necessity.

Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest: If you are a top 25 delegate in another ecosystem, hold an elected position in another DAO, and/or are a multisig signer in another community please disclose here.

Nope

Please verify that you understand you may be removed from this role via the Representative Removal proposal type in the Operating Manual 1 :

I understand

Please verify that you understand KYC will be required to receive Council rewards at the end of Season 6:

I understand

Please verify that you are able to commit ~20 hours / week to reviewing grant applications and other Council operations :

I am able but not over extended period of times.
