AI assisting appraisal for educators.
Intent: improve governance accessibility

In retroPGF 2/3 sometime we struggle to appraise impact of educators.

We can create tools/bot/AI that will fetch twitter stats.

  1. the app receive list of twitter url.(or website) on google sheet/excel
  2. check tweet/thread
  3. fetch stats such as impression, like, retweet and bookmark
  4. Make summary of result.

This way we can measure impact of all languages in same format.

ps. of course other media is good too. However, imo Twitter has the most reach. Also come with public stats. Other media has lower reach. Some are non-measurable.

Additionals

  • Would be nice, if the AI can help translate local-language to english for reviewers.

    • :uk:English is the best for that as 1.5 billion people worldwide can read English.
    • :earth_asia: However, we rarely see a discord with ENG only. because, as of 2023, approximately 6.7 billion people worldwide cannot read English. (number may not accurate)
  • Analytics page would be nice.

    • Engagement ratio
      • High impression but low engagement might be a result of ads, which is not organic.
      • High engagement ratio despite low impression. Mean content is good need help with exposure.

Should this Foundation Mission be fulfilled by one or multiple applicants: One

Submit by: To be set by Grants Council

Selection by: To be set by Grants Council

Start date: If applicable

Completion date: Within 3 months after received grant. So we can use it in retroPGF4.

Specification

How will this Delegate Mission Request help accomplish the above Intent?

Previously, despite Twitter being the most popular way to educate and onboard new users, we had no means to measure the impact numerically. As a result, badgeholders found it challenging to reward them.

This tool will enable educators to focus on educating and onboarding people without worrying about recognition from the team or badgeholders, especially educators using local languages.

Badgeholders will also benefit from standardised information. So they can reward impact = profit better.

Please explain alignment with the relevant Intent

Intent 4 : “Improve the Consumer Experience” is relevant.

With this system, OP can attract more educators, users, builders, and additional people to join the OP collective.

What is required to execute this Delegate Mission Request?

Programming skills, AI APIs, twitter APIs and a website to host the translated content.

Also this UnrollHelper tool might be good for assisting with your work or serve as an idea for how translation works.

https://twitter.com/UnrollHelper

Please list responsibilities and/or expected deliverables

Milestone Requirement
1. Scrape twitter stats Create a tool that receives multiple URLs at once. Then scrape likes, retweets, bookmarks, replies, and impressions. The tool then collects these numbers into an Excel/CSV/Google Sheet. Also add engagement rate which is total engagement/impression. **If the URL is a thread, collect and sum all engagements and impressions for each tweet as well.
2. Analytic page Provide analytics charts.
3. Use AI to translate local-language to ENG. Then provide links to translated result. If the content is in local languages, translate it using AI, then place it on a webpage. Next, provide the links to the translations in the output.
4. Maintain the tools until retroPGF4 end Used in retroPGF 4
5. Maintain the tools until retroPGF5 end Used in retroPGF 5

Please note that Councils cannot be established via a Mission Request, as outlined in the Council Famework. The creation of Councils would constitute a metagovernance proposal, which is not yet a valid proposal type. There is a limited number of Councils the Collective can support, which is why the creation of Councils must occur within the broader framework of the design of the overall system.

Hello there!
I have an idea regarding Intent 3 for Optimism. It involves developing a tool aimed at empowering game studios and gamers to effectively handle dynamic NFTs with immediate and seamless updates.
Presently, web3 games face significant limitations due to existing tools. Some are prohibitively expensive, characterized by high transaction fees and extended loading times, hindering studios from delivering an authentic immersive experience. Consequently, this results in a relatively subpar user experience. On the other hand, games are also constrained by blockchain intricacies, forcing them to only offer players static assets. The proposed concept seeks to bridge this gap by not only providing an authentic gaming experience but also facilitating ownership of the gamer’s entire inventory.

I’m working on this tool with my team. How can I submit it to the Delegate to be part of Season 5 please?

Delegate Mission Request Summary:

Organizing 4 campaigns every quarter, inviting a mix of established and new projects. The aim is to delve into project offerings, facilitate user onboarding, and provide community education. This streamlined approach allows projects to focus on building while we onboard more users. With 6-8 projects per campaign, we’ll be helping and do marketing for ~30 projects.

This is especially relevant now, given the influx of Layer 2 solutions and the overwhelming number of projects launching in each ecosystem. It helps prevent users from potentially overlooking a great product or service.

S5 Intent 3: Improve Consumer Experience

Proposing Delegate: ???

Proposal Tier 6: Ember / Fledgling

Baseline grant amount: 100K OP

Should this Foundation Mission be fulfilled by one or multiple applicants: One

Submit by: To be set by Grants Council

Selection by: To be set by Grants Council

Start date: Q1 2024

Completion date: Q4 2024

Specification

How will this Delegate Mission Request help accomplish the above Intent?

  • This approach aims to save significant time for the projects by handling the thinking and organization of marketing campaigns. We leverage our past experience to be their voice, educating the community and creating a bigger impact.

  • This way, the projects can focus more on building better services, while we take care of all the necessary elements for their campaigns, such as NFT designs, tasks, promo videos, marketing materials, and quest listings with possible rewards. if we invite 6-8 projects to each campaign we could have helped ~30 Top/New projects building on OP / onboarding many users to the projects/ecosystem and educating them

  • These campaigns are not just about listing a few tasks. They will be a mix of educational content, reviews, highlighting strengths, and demonstrating how they benefit users. The approach will be more of a “learn in action” format, which may come with future rewards or advantages. This approach aims to assist both builders and users, contributing to the ecosystem. This is especially relevant now, given the influx of Layer 2 solutions and the overwhelming number of projects launching in each ecosystem. It helps prevent users from potentially overlooking a great product or service.

What is required to execute this Delegate Mission Request?

  • Examining, testing, and evaluating new projects on OP, especially those offering novel services or products.
  • Contacting each project to grasp their marketing requirements.
  • Collaborating with teams to brainstorm marketing concepts and devise strategies for their implementation.
  • Reviewing available platforms for campaigns and collaborating with their teams to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborating closely with projects and the design team to craft top-notch marketing materials, encompassing NFT designs, promo videos, and graphics for educational content.
  • Producing high-quality educational content for social media, covering the latest updates and upcoming services/products.
  • Conducting LEARN/DO/EARN campaigns.

How should the Token House measure progress towards this Mission?

  • Generate a roster of projects invited to participate in each campaign.
  • Compile the ultimate list of projects slated to engage in each campaign.
  • Document the tasks and quests requested by each project.
  • Outline the threads and educational content intended for sharing across all social media platforms.
  • NFT designs, promotional videos, and marketing materials.
  • Establish a timetable for each campaign, including start and end times.

How should badgeholders measure impact upon completion of this Mission?

  • Generating a summary report for the campaign.
  • Collecting reports from the project once each campaign ended.
  • List of published educational content.
  • Recording the count of likes, reposts, impressions, and bookmarks.
  • Compiling a report on the number of users who participated in the campaigns.

Background

In the three campaigns that we have managed in 2023, more than 80,000 users have participated. We done these campaigns with big names such as Zerion, Paraswap, Bungee, Jumper, Bebop, or Hop Protocol, and the outcomes from the campaigns they joined fell behind their expectations.

Here are some links to previous campaigns and threads we shared on each project. Indeed, there will always be room for improvement, and that’s what we intend to do based on our past experiences

How can This benefit the ecosystem and projects?

Several factors should be taken into account, as the campaign stands to benefit not only the entire ecosystem but also numerous projects and teams. Examining the Optimism Quest campaign in September 2022 and the team’s year-end report reveals a significant increase in transaction numbers—from around 4 million in August to nearly 11 million.

If we want to be realistic, considering the number of new blockchains and marketing activities that other ecosystems are implementing, it seems that optimism is the need to take measures that can improve its position.

Considering the market always follows profit opportunities and incentives, and considering that a significant percentage of $OP tokens are still going to be distributed among users in the future, these campaigns can be one of the criteria that can create enough motivation among the community so that we can shift the attention towards the ecosystem and new and old projects. We witnessed the result of this strategy on Solana.

It is an undeniable fact that the existence of conditions for receiving possible incentives will undoubtedly direct many funds and activities toward the ecosystem and projects. This position is important from several dimensions because it provides the chance and possibility for projects to introduce their services and services to users in action, as a result of which a large part of these funds can remain in the ecosystem and projects.

Stating that maybe an incentive is considered for the participants in the campaign can guarantee the multiple success of these campaigns.

This point should not be forgotten that taking into account things like incentives is not a prerequisite for the campaign, but it is one of the things that can be agreed upon by the projects and ecosystem, along with other marketing issues.

Missing Questions:

Please explain alignment with the relevant Intent

Sharing educational content, quests, and tasks to test and apply what you’ve learned will improve the consumer experience. This approach aims to educate even the least experienced users about the top features and services each project offers, turning them into repeat users. This, in turn, can lead to bridging more assets into the OP Network and increasing transactions on both platforms and the network, while gaining a deeper understanding of the ecosystem.

Please list responsibilities and/or expected deliverables
Our team will take care of everything from A to Z. This includes exploring the ecosystem, reaching out to the projects and teams developing on OP, extending invitations to teams, and compiling all the necessary data and requests. We will collaborate with the teams in each round to brainstorm campaign quest details, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs and demands. Additionally, we’ll identify the best platform to host campaigns and work closely with each team to secure exclusive support.

Handling all aspects of NFT designs, promo videos, marketing materials, etc., is also part of our responsibilities. We will conduct comprehensive reviews of each project in collaboration with their teams, aiming to understand the unique features and services they offer, their points of differentiation, and how users stand to benefit. Our team will stay abreast of upcoming updates and gather all pertinent information for inclusion in our educational posts.

Furthermore, we will manage the listing of tasks/quests, NFT contracts, perk giveaways, and rewards provided by our partner teams.

@Gonna.eth should I post the draft of my idea and mission request in here?
How do mission get sponsor please? It feels like this page doesn’t have a lot of activity…

Thanks for the help!

GM @AlphaInsiders! I recommend that you consider changing the approach.

Currently, the process involves seeking sponsorship so a Top 100 delegate posting the mission request. Following this, it will require 4 approvals to proceed to the voting phase. Once through that phase, the Grants Council will open applications for the Mission Request. While you are welcome to apply, please note that it will be open to any team. The Grants Council will then select the most suitable team to develop the mission. You can find more details about the changes to Missions for Season 5 here.

Thank you and have a great week! :sparkles:

Hello all, after discussing the idea with team members at OP Labs, we are looking for a delegate to sponsor a new Mission Request:

Adoption of the ERC-7281 standard for the Optimism Stack

Note: This post does not adhere to the standard Mission Request template as its primary purpose is to provide a high-level overview for potential sponsors of the initiative. Please let me know if any changes are necessary.

Description

Enable support of ERC-7281 (the xERC20 tokens) by building a Custom Bridge on the Optimism messaging layer

Intent it aligns with

Grow the Superchain

Benefits

The adoption of xERC20, being completely bridge agnostic, helps the whole web3 ecosystem by making crosschain liquidity more capital efficient and secure. It helps projects to avoid being locked into 3rd party bridges which, if compromised, can jeopardize even secure layers like Optimism.
This also fits within the work being done with the Superchain, as it helps to unify liquidity across OP chains using both native and 3rd party bridges.

Projects that upgrade/launch their tokens using the xERC20 standard can immediately enable the transfer of their token across chains of the OP stack with granular risk control and no requirement to bootstrap liquidity.

Background

xERC20 (ERC-7281) is an open proposed standard for Sovereign Bridged Tokens.

The approach allows tokens to be minted and burned across chains by multiple bridges (canonical or 3rd-party), while giving token issuers the ability to granularly control their security preferences for each bridge using rate limits.
This fine-grained control mechanism enhances security and limits potential damage in the event of security breaches.

The standard enables projects to work with and expand to any chain using the OP-Stack without fragmenting liquidity across rollups, while still being able to retain sovereignty and granular security control.

xERC20s are neutral, native crosschain tokens to satisfy the business needs of projects today while being future proof for the technology of tomorrow.

Proposed Mission Milestone

  1. Build the xERC20 token bridge on top of Optimism’s existing base messaging functionality with the specifications below.
  2. (optional) suggest upgrade for Optimism’s bridge UI to route ERC20 tokens that have existing mapped xERC20 representations to their lockbox and then bridge them via the xERC20 bridge.
  3. Enable token mapping

I am at disposal for any feedback, and happy to share more technical documentation on the project.
If you are a delegate who is available to sponsor this mission please reach out.

Thanks
Max

Will this be reliant on the foundation or OP labs for implementation? I’m just checking your idea since Mission requests cannot request Foundation or OP team intervention.

[DRAFT]Alternative CL/EL client Mission Request

Delegate Mission Request Summary:
Implement new OP Stack CL/EL clients to make OP Stack chains decentralized, also help to build a multiproof ecosystem.

S5 Intent Please list the Intent your Request aligns with here: Intent 1

Proposing Delegate: Delegate name/pseudonym, linked to delegate profile

Proposal Tier: Ember

Baseline grant amount: 50,000 OP

Should this Foundation Mission be fulfilled by one or multiple applicants: Multiple

Submit by: To be set by Grants Council

Selection by: To be set by Grants Council

Start date: If applicable

Completion date: If applicable. Please note Missions must be completed within 12 months (i.e. marked as done).

Specification

How will this Delegate Mission Request help accomplish the above Intent?

OP Stack is far ahead of other Rollups in terms of client diversity. There are currently three CL clients: op-node (OP Labs), magi (a16z), hildr (OptimismJ) and four EL clients: op-geth (OP Labs), op-erigon (TIP), op-reth (multiple teams), op-nethermind (nethermind). The next key step towards stage2 rollup is the multiproof system. It is hoped that a variety of fault proof programs can run in a variety of FPVMs. However, currently only Rust and Go have both CL and EL implementations, which can be used to build fault proof programs. By adding more client implementations, we can build more fault proof programs in Java, C++, etc., and enrich the multiproof ecosystem.

What is required to execute this Delegate Mission Request?

  • Open source code repository and developer documentation
  • Node operator running documentation

How should the Token House measure progress towards this Mission?

  • Measure the quality of the code and document.
  • Measure the node can actually run OP Stack chains such as OP Seoplia testnet, OP mainnet, Base Seoplia testnet, Base mainnet, etc.

How should badgeholders measure impact upon completion of this Mission?

  • Measure the functionality and effectiveness of the open source codebase.
  • Gather feedback from badgeholders and the community on the implementation.

Have you engaged a Grant-as-a-service provider for this Mission Request?
No.

Has anyone other than the Proposing Delegate contributed to this Mission Request?
No.

Hey @grapebaba,
This seems to be a great proposal for Intent 1 and the following template will definitely increase the chance of one of Top 100 delegate picking this proposal.

As other MRs are using Intent number, I would suggest using “Intent 1” instead of the description.

Hey @Gonna.eth thanks for jumping in.
The implementation can be built by any external team, and that’s where the majority of the work for this mission is about.

Ideally, the Optimism’s bridge UI can also be upgraded to route xERC20 and promote an optimal user experience - not sure who is responsible for that that but I’ll do some research, and we can decouple that objective from this mission to be fully compliant.
