Please outline any other contributions to the Optimism ecosystem to date:

I significantly contributed to the planning and execution of the RFP#2 during Optimism season 4, facilitating an 8-week educational course to train participants in the community with basic conflict management skills. As a result of that training, we have now 10 new Gravitons on Optimism, people that can influence positively on the prevention and promotion of due processes to manage conflict.

Have you attended GravityDAO’s conflict resolution training?:

Yes xD, I’m a graviton of the current 5 generations.

You can check my list here: POAP - The bookmarks of your life

If so, what was the most impactful learning you took away from this training?:

Conflict is a natural part of life and learning to deal with it can be fundamental for the success of both projects and individuals.

Please demonstrate any experience you believe is relevant to this role:

I have participated in the mediation of over 25 conflicting cases amongst different communities, maintaining privacy and respect for all the parties involved.

I have participated in Web3 projects for over 4 years, gaining both leadership and team-playing abilities.

I worked on a hackathon project called Unbreakable vows that wanted to make on-chain legally binding documents. I believe that we could use attestations on Optimism for the implementation of alternative sanctions and agreements in relation to disputes.

I have built my reputation on the Blockchain space by contributing to public goods and also leading community efforts around Ethereum in Colombia.

Have you previously served on a Token House Council or committee? If so, please specify which:

I was a steward during the Hatch and Commons Upgrade of the Token Engineering Commons

I have led Gravity DAO for 3 years, growing from a working group inside a DAO, to a DAO that tackles specific coordination issues on other DAOs and has endured the bear market by creating impact and value to the public goods ecosystem in the Web3.

Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest:
N/A

Please verify that you agree to abide by the Code of Conduct :

I agree to abide by and support the implementation of Optimism CoC

Please verify that you understand KYC will be required to receive Council rewards at the end of Season 5:

I understand KYC will be required to receive council rewards at the end of season 5.

Please verify that you are able to commit ~5 hours / week, on average, to processing Code of Conduct violations and reporting enforcement actions to the community:

I am able to commit ~5 hours/week to the duties of this role.

Have you attended GravityDAO’s conflict resolution training?: Update: In progress

If so, what was the most impactful learning you took away from this training?: TBD

Please demonstrate any experience you believe is relevant to this role:

As an attorney, even though my main area of practice has been corporate and commercial law, including litigation in this field, I have previous experience both in a law firm and as part of a civil society organization, litigating in two areas I consider relevant for this role: family law and victim advocacy for victims of gender-based violence.

I consider this experience to be highly relevant because it has taught me how to analyze evidence. Also, in family law, all cases require prior mediation before starting a judicial process.

I also consider important to this role my experience as a contributor to various Web3 organizations, including my role as coordinator for the BanklessDAO Legal Guild for 2 Seasons.

Also, my deep understanding of Optimism´s governance, as I have had the chance to attend and give workshops & 1:1 consultancies to individuals and projects interested in participating in the Optimism Collective through the Mission I led, Optimistic Womxn Shinning in Blockchain.

My interest and experience, both inside and outside the crypto legal space, makes me genuinely interested in participating in an experiment like the Code of Conduct Council.

Please outline any other contributions to the Optimism ecosystem to date:

  • Assited for ParaSwap DAO to onboard their staking system and liquidity onto Optimism.
  • Served as Protocol Delegate for ParaSwap for 2 Seasons
  • Took part in the ThankOptimism Alliance

Have you attended GravityDAO’s conflict resolution training?: Not yet

If so, what was the most impactful learning you took away from this training?: N/A

Please demonstrate any experience you believe is relevant to this role:

Being a major contributor to the ParaSwap DAO, one of my major roles has been moderating the social media and forums to ensure that discussion manages to remain productive while always ensuring civil discourse. I believe that this experience will both serve useful for knowing when a Delegate is acting out of line while also providing a perspective from my previous decisions moderating.

Additionally, the reason I have decide to put forward a nomination is my experience participating in the Token House. As so far current applicants are not Delegates, I believe it is important to have a member of the council that might be more familiar with the usual duties and challenges of an Optimism Delegate. Hopefully, this also means that I’ll be able to remain accessible for other Token House members to reach out in case they have any doubts about the council!

Have you previously served on a Token House Council or committee? If so, please specify which:
Only on the Thank Optimism Alliance

Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest: Major contributor for ParaSwap DAO. I will abstain from any votes that might related to anything related to DeFi Aggregators or Key Partners to ParaSwap, and will additionally take recommendations from other members to abstain were there to be any potential ones.

If you are a delegate, please indicate your voting participation rate in OP governance to date:

If I understand this correctly, this can be found via the same link as before: Optimism Agora

Please link to your voting history and any voting rationale you’ve shared:

My voting rationale is often posted on-chain during voting, via Optimism Agora, and while I don’t have a voter communication thread, you’ll find a lot of my attitudes and beliefs within this Discourse and my profile, via Profile - Axel_T - Optimism Collective.

Please outline any other contributions to the Optimism ecosystem to date:

  • Previously very active in this Discourse community
  • Attended multiple Community Calls and participated in these.
  • Applied for a Phase 1 Grant during the first voting round of Season 1. The ‘Summa’ grant application was a disaster, but looking back now I am glad I tried and it did make me emotionally invested in Optimism and lead me into crypto and DAO governance.
  • Applied for a Base grant when they were initially looking for builders.
  • Applied for an allocation to the a16z delegation allocations. I.e. When a16z were going to decentralise their voting power they were asking for 10 to 20(?) delegates to make delegations to. I followed the application procedure to be one of these 10, but was unsuccessful.
  • While not a developer, I have tinkered here and there and have bridged my own ERC20 token to the Optimism network after it had long been on Mainnet (BAXagent Coin (BAXA) Token Tracker | Optimism)

Have you attended GravityDAO’s conflict resolution training?:

As per the Methodology of the course I have completed Week 1 of the training. GravityDAO requests that you complete the training over a number of allocated weeks to really let the training sink in. So I have enrolled, completed the intro material, and completed week 1. I will complete the rest of the Weeks as and when they fall due.

If so, what was the most impactful learning you took away from this training?:

I want to mention a few things, because I think this training is amazing.

  • I thought the training was so good, that it would not only be valuable and used in any Code of Conduct Council, but would also be used in my 9-5 business, in my household, and ideally within my own thinking too.
  • I also took away how hopeful and progressive the training was. As mentioned in the training, the world can be a rough place and it’s always been this way. So to have the ideals of DAOs and decentralisation reinforced was very inspiring. I’ve also found many crypto communities to often be toxic, so to see how GravityDAO and Optimism is trying to be progressive and inclusive was very reassuring.
  • I loved the idea that conflict can be a gift, and that you can grow and transform from conflict. And that conflict is recurring, not only because of it’s transformative nature, but because the resolutions to one conflict will often act as a seed to the next conflict.
  • Also, I found it profound the claim that we often project conflicts and behaviours on others when in fact we haven’t resolved these very issues personally. I.e we project our own unresolved issues.
  • The lesson on trauma centred thinking was great. Acknowledging that we all have trauma to an extent, and that we need to be more human centred and not always goal oriented (even when working in a team). I love the idea that we should see other humans as an end in itself, and not merely as an object that is a means to an end.
  • I was able to assess my progress along the decolonisation spectrum, and consider where my inherent bias lies and how my perspective was developed historically.
  • Overall, I think this training is exceptional! Its wording is beautiful, its idealism admirable, and as I listened to that Bob Marley track while reading those lessons I was moved immensely. I look forward to the following week’s training, I hope to meet Juan Carlos one day, and if I’d written this straight after the Week 1 training, you’d know this would be a short version of what I actually wanted to say, ha!

Please demonstrate any experience you believe is relevant to this role:

  • As a bookkeeper and qualified accountant I can bring diversity to the Council. I assume many of this community would be technology focussed and many drawn to this Council would be legally minded, so to bring the diversity of another professional skill set would be beneficial.
  • Within my current 9-5 business I am obligated by both a professional association code of conduct and also a legislated code of conduct to hold my licence, and thus I have many years of lived experience of working with the boundaries of a code of conduct.
  • Personally, I am not embedded in the Web3 industry and thus I don’t have commercial or social ties and thus biases towards any particular actors. This would improve my independence, and thus the independence of the Council.
  • I’ve been part of the Optimism community since Airdrop 1, so I have a couple of years experience dealing with Optimism and many of its participants. This experience may assist by adding context to Council deliberations.
  • I have completed Ethics training as part of CFA Exam studies and my professional accounting studies. So while not legally trained, I do have some training in how individuals view their ethics and how they do and should address ethical dilemmas.

Have you previously served on a Token House Council or committee? If so, please specify which:

No, I have not been part of the Token House Council or any committee.

Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest:

  • Coin and token holdings that can be viewed and verified by address given.
  • Owner and principal of Tracy & Associates Accounting.
  • Token creator and very large holder of BAXA (BAXagent Coin).

Please verify that you agree to abide by the Code of Conduct :

Yes, I agree to abide by the Code of Conduct

Please verify that you understand KYC will be required to receive Council rewards at the end of Season 5:

Yes, I understand and agree to this.

Please verify that you are able to commit ~5 hours / week, on average, to processing Code of Conduct violations and reporting enforcement actions to the community:

Absolutely. I can commit to this average workload for the Season.

I was an early user of Optimism having been allocated tokens from the first and second distributions for my contribution, and continue to utilize the network regularly. I am determined to become a delegate and vote for myself in an informed manner one day. I nominated and supported the application of 2 eventual recipients for RPGF round 1, Giveth and the Token Engineering Commons. I also provide liquidity for the OP token to help maintain price stability in my own small way.

Have you attended GravityDAO’s conflict resolution training?:
Yes, I am a second and third generation Graviton, having acted as an Active Graviton for the Token Engineering Commons for the last 2 years.

If so, what was the most impactful learning you took away from this training?:
Realizing mental trauma is not just something that happens to individuals in acute situations, but is in effect endemic to modern culture and society was cathartic for me personally. Committing to the decolonization of the mind provides us an opportunity to rehumanize others through the cultivation of compassion and empathy for whomever we meet each and every day.

Please demonstrate any experience you believe is relevant to this role:
I have been an Active Graviton for the Token Engineering Commons since late 2021.

I have been an active participant in the blockchain world since late 2014.

I have been a part of decentralized organizations in one form or another since the inception of the concept, having been a participant in The DAO in 2016.

For the last few years, I led FranklinDAO’s (Penn Blockchain) delegations expanding the delegated projects to Optimism, Uniswap, Compound, Aave, Arbitrum, etc. Now, leading the PGov delegate platform in a more personal capacity has given me even more responsibility and experience. I have voted and participated in over 100 governance votes across over a dozen different ecosystems and have had to review and understand possible conflicts of interest and politics at play constantly.

As part of the Uniswap Deployment Accountability Committee, our team has helped oversee and hold teams that are looking to deploy Uniswap v3 onto their chain accountable. This is directly relevant to holding Optimism members accountable for whatever situations arise.

Some other relevant experience includes:

  • UADP (Uni/Arb delegate program): Responsibly managing delegate relations and interests for Arbitrum on behalf of Uniswap

Hi @system @lavande

Agora seems to have generated two seperate elections for the Code of Conduct Council special voting cycle 16b.

One is titled, “Elect Token House Code of Conduct Council Members” (Optimism Agora) and the other is titles, “Code of Conduct Council: Member Nominations” (Optimism Agora).

Both elections have the same options/nominees.

Is this an error, and the election has been duplicated? Or am I missing something that your could clear up for me? Or if there are indeed 2x elections, can you or someone advise me of the difference between the two?

Ultimately, which Agora election is the right one? Which one will elect the Code of Conduct Council? Or will it be both, as they serve different purposes.

Thanks for any advice if I’m missing something, and thanks in advance for cleaning this up if this is an error.

Kind regards,
Axel
