Seeking Mission Request Sponsorship

Hey @Carlosjmelgar,

I Agree that having an Optimism intern will be a great oppertunity to communicate important messages in a more relatable way. From my understanding, the Vaneck Intern has actually taken over the Official Vaneck account. But yes, Base, Monad, Avalanche, and even Pendle Finance Intern are great examples of intern accounts.

Are you willing to sponsor this request @Carlosjmelgar?

Delegate Mission Request Summary:

Onboard more artists, collectors, and patrons to the Superchain by exhibiting the power of art on OP, Base, and Zora during multiple satellite events during major Crypto, Art, or NFT conventions. This can be accomplished by exhibiting Wā¤ļøTA contest winners. Hosting open calls to incentivize the onboarding of artists on the Superchain with exhibition spots. Encouraging attendees to mint Artwork and participation tokens.

Intent: Grow the Superchain

Proposing Delegate: Delegate name/pseudonym, linked to delegate profile

Proposal Tier: Ember

Baseline grant amount: 10k OP

Should this Foundation Mission be fulfilled by one or multiple applicants: Up to 3

Submit by: To be set by Grants Council

Selection by: To be set by Grants Council

Start date: February 10th 2024

Completion date: December 23rd 2024

Specification

How will this Delegate Mission Request help accomplish the above Intent?

  • Showcasing the Wā™„ļøTA winners and how much they were able to secure for their art work will amplify the impact of the contest and set the tone for what the superchain can accomplish for artists for anyone unaware. In my experience of hosting over 5 irl exhibitions and showcased over 200 pieces of unique artwork across major US Cities. Iā€™ve found that exhibiting art at an in person exhibition during larger events is the best onboarding experiences for partons and collectors to connect with artists. There is an incredible opportunity for an event to host an open call, onboard artists on to the superchain. Then create a social fly wheel of collectors meeting artists and being able to collect all the exhibited artwork easily and accessibly. This ultimately onboards creators who will onboard the next generation of collectors and patrons. While rewarding them with proof that they attended the exhibit.

What is required to execute this Delegate Mission Request?

  • Venue for the events. Screens to exhibit art. Videographer to capture the event and create further content collectibles and rewards from the event. Coordinating and curating the onboarding of artists on to Zora Netwrok. Creation of attendance tokens to onboard attendees.

How should the Token House measure progress towards this Mission?

  1. Securing initial venue spot during NFT NYC.
  2. Curated Zora free mint goes live a week prior to NFT NYC (April 3rd-5th). Mint closes a week after.
  3. Hosting the initial event during NFT NYC.
  4. Provide a video of the event to share the event with the world.
  5. Metrics from Artwork and attendance token mints.
  6. Photographs of all art exhibited for provenance and artistsā€™s portfolios.
  7. Repeat the process for a second event during Art week Miami in December.

How should badgeholders measure impact upon completion of this Mission?

  • The total number of collectors across Art and attendance mints.
  • ETH generated for artists who have been onboarded onto the Superchain.
  • Number of artists weā€™re able to encourage to mint on the Superchain.

Have you engaged a Grant-as-a-service provider for this Mission Request?

I have not.

Has anyone other than the Proposing Delegate contributed to this Mission Request?

No.

Hey @Ariiellus!

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions.

The Mission Request is structured to enable a wide variety of helpful video content for the Collective, such as vlogs, news shows, podcasts, game shows, and musical live streams about Optimism. For example, you can see several kinds of videos that @DanSingjoy and I are thinking about creating for this Mission Request here.

These types of videos provide unique value that seems to be missing in the Optimism Collective and are quite different from @dmars300ā€™s videos. We appreciate his videos and are looking forward to promoting them. This Mission Request can greatly help attract new participants in the Collective by tapping into existing interests and foster a thriving ecosystem of video creators who promote each otherā€™s content for the benefit of Optimism.

Regarding the metrics, I deep-dived into the links and did not find additional information about the category in the ā€˜Impact Evaluation Frameworkā€™ as the page was empty. I thoroughly reviewed the section about ā€˜Metrics Gardenā€™ under ā€˜Collective Governanceā€™ but I donā€™t see applicable metrics for video content creation that are not already included in my Mission Request. Let me know if Iā€™m missing somethingā€¦ Iā€™m open to suggestions and collaborations on improving the metrics and appreciate you sending these links.

Video content plays a pivotal role in todayā€™s digital world, with its vast reach impacting a wide audience - 92.3% of internet users globally. The diversity and richness of video content are key in educating and engaging viewers across various interests. This underscores the importance of supporting a wide range of video creators to maintain the diversity in Optimism video-related content.

Feel free to let me know if any other feedback comes to mind

Also tagging @Carlosjmelgar @Dmars300 @LauNaMu @Brichis @Pumbi in case interested in following the conversation further.

Restructure this based on this feedback. This is not a grant application, itā€™s a request to create a mission that teams can apply to accomplish the stipulated mission.

Something like ā€œOptimism events at Universitiesā€, not your specific plan for you to run an OP event.

Thank you @Carlosjmelgar I update it!

Iā€™ve created a poll to support the fact that neighborhoods and city shaping needs web3.
Check it out here pls: https://x.com/0xUrbanika/status/1747646117561487651?s=20

UrbĆ”nika is working on this mission already, thanks to donations in Giveth and Gitcoin weā€™ve bought a bus to run the bootcamps that the mission proposes, and weā€™re finishing the curricula for the first neighborhood.

However, weā€™re not the only ones working on this.

Thereā€™s Neighbour.hoods a web3 framework for groupware and socials that helps communities design and select custom cultural patterns using Holochain.

And thereā€™s Mirror, a DAO platform for residential communities.

And there are many people working on bootcamps but focused on devs, what if we take these professionals into a zero-distance set of events to truly provide web3 with the reality check it needs?

Hey @dmars300! Iā€™m willing to sponsor this Mission Request (I believe it deserves more feedback). However, before proceeding, could you consider lowering the Tier to enable new teams to apply, as well as reducing the budget slightly? In my view, the current budget appears high, and I feel this type of work should be assessed more based on its impact. Would you be able to make these adjustments, please?

Onboarding Prominent Content Creators in Strategic Markets to OP and RPGF

Delegate Mission Request Summary:
This mission aims to create engaging campaigns with crypto content creators who have large native crypto following. Most marketing efforts fail to produce desired results (increase in users, gov participation and buy pressure) because they focus on copy pasta strategies and teams often lack experience and an audience they can convert to users and ecosystem participants. Onboarding a diverse set of established creators serving strategic markets allows marketing efforts to create quantifiable results.

S5: Intents 3&4

-Intent 4: Contributions that educate the broader community about Optimism governance and RetroPGF

-Intent 3: Improve the Consumer Experience.

Proposing Delegate: needs sponsor

Proposal Tier:

Baseline grant amount: 69K OP allowing for additional RPGF rewards based on impact
Reduced from 200K for 1 year to 69K for 6 months

This amount is based on projects like Optimism en EspaƱol receiving over 60K OP, this mission request with the baseline amount of 170K OP for 6 months and market rates for content creation from entities with large following and crypto media.

Program management should forego upfront rewards in lieu of future RetroPGF consideration based on results.

  • Mission aims to expand beyond Optimists talking to Optimists by leveraging untapped platforms in strategic markets.
  • Familiarity of global market opportunities for crypto.

What is required to execute this Delegate Mission Request?
