Specification

How will this Delegate Mission Request help accomplish the above Intent?

Displaying the W♥️TA winners and the success they achieved in securing funds for their artwork will enhance the impact of the contest and establish a benchmark for what Optimism can achieve for artists, particularly for those who are not yet aware. Showcasing the art at physical exhibitions during major events offers the optimal experience for patrons and collectors to engage with the artists. There’s a remarkable opportunity to organize an event with an open call, which will introduce both artists and users to Optimism. This can create a dynamic social cycle where collectors meet artists and can effortlessly and accessibly acquire all the exhibited artwork. Ultimately, this approach will attract creators who will in turn bring in the next wave of collectors and patrons, while also providing them with tangible proof of their attendance at the exhibit. Each event can add on additional activations like an online counterpart to the in person event. This allows the curated exhibition to live on forever. On site contests can be hosted to encourage artists attending the event to participate in a competition.

What is required to execute this Delegate Mission Request?

  1. A venue to host the events.
  2. Screens for the exhibition of art.
  3. A videographer to document the event and produce additional content, such as collectibles and rewards associated with the event.
  4. Coordination and curation of artist onboarding on the OP Mainnet.
  5. Creation of attendance tokens to facilitate the onboarding of attendees.

How should the Token House measure progress towards this Mission?

  1. Organizing a side event during major Crypto, Art, or NFT conventions.
  2. Generating and disseminating Social Media content to promote the event.
  3. Holding a press conference to promote the event.
  4. Creating an after-movie and compiling photographs of all exhibited art for provenance documentation and inclusion in artists’ portfolios.
  5. Delivering a comprehensive report one month post-event, detailing metrics from artwork and attendance token mints.

How should badgeholders measure impact upon completion of this Mission?

  • The total count of attendance mints.
  • The amount of ETH generated for artists who were onboarded to the OP Mainnet.
  • The number of contracts deployed on the OP Mainnet (NFTs from artists)
  • The count of new wallets created on the OP Mainnet from people who physically attended the event.
  • The number of attestations/NFTs issued to artists encouraged to mint on the OP Mainnet.
  • The number of attestations/NFTs distributed to event attendees.
  • The total amount of fees generated through the event.

Have you engaged a Grant-as-a-service provider for this Mission Request?

This is not ready for feedback yet, we’re working to update this proposal to make it more accesible

This proposal sounds awsome!
But I have some question,Why don’t we expand the art activities about Op to more places, like China, for example, there are a lot of art exhibitions in Shanghai, China, and I think a lot of people would be especially interested in art activities that are combined with OP!

We Love The Art !!!

We also love the real world focus and continuation towards an evolving artistic campaign this mission has.

While this budget could be seen as excessive to simply host and display W❤️TA, we could see proportional impact IF the exhibition sessions are:

  • Actually present at the biggest crypto conferences worldwide
  • Constructed to strongly focus on immediately onboarding a greater artistic community, with clear onchain metrics

We’ll approve with optimism that the continued development of this mission will match the vision of the OP superchain hosting the worlds largest onchain art community.

Approval - I am an Optimism delegate 1 with sufficient voting power and I believe this proposal is ready to move to a vote.

We believe this is in fact an opportunity to expand the We Love the Art campaign. But is also a missing opportunity not having an wider scope; by example, conceive including different approaches such as online instances, in-situ contests and ways to keep incentivizing artists to create art in Optimism.

I’m a member of LXDAO, and through recommendations from community members, I came across this proposal, which is absolutely fantastic! I’m deeply grateful to the OP for paying attention to the artist community, especially digital artists. In the traditional art world, digital artworks are easily replicable, making it difficult to establish their value for trading purposes. Apart from very famous artists who can leverage their reputation for returns, other digital artists face significant challenges in their creative endeavors.

Since 2021, when I started exploring NFTs, I realized that NFTs offer a novel way to imbue these works with intrinsic value and pricing potential. Therefore, I’ve increasingly engaged with NFTs and Web3. Seeing this proposal, I’m thrilled as it presents new possibilities for digital artists, allowing them to focus more on the creative process itself.

As a curator, I understand that high-quality art works and exhibitions can bring immense value and reputation to a brand, while also attracting a broader audience. This group of artists and art enthusiasts are more open to novel experiences, owing to their rich imagination, love for life, and proficiency in artistic expression. They possess the potential to become future members of the OP community.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m aligned. Being a part of the larger events that artists will actually be attending is key. Events like NFTNYC will see 10x more artists than an event like ETH Denver for example so choosing the right event is key in this.

I think having things like online/metaverse counter parts to the in person events would be awesome! I appreciate your feedback.

I appreciate your feedback Sanzhi!

This is a nice idea to support artists but I don’t see how this mission contributes to improving the consumer experience and I don’t see these types of events having much impact overall so I’m not going to give this my approval but wishing you the best!

perhaps i am missing something here, as per the guidelines set under collective intents, how is this proposal falling under consumer experience.
Please share your thoughts and happy to reconsider. Thanks.
