Projects name: H.E.R. DAO LATAM (Education)
A description of how the project has supported the development and usage of the OP Stack:
Our mission is to sustainably diversify the blockchain ecosystem by providing scholarships to female and non-binary Latin American individuals to attend conferences and hackathons across the globe so they may become builders and/or founders.
We onboard Latin American womxn from scratch into Web3 through Virtual and IRL Workshops teaching them the basics of blockchain and its scaling solutions, and build partnerships to offer scholarships for women to learn about development, blockchain technology, and tech skills through educational platforms that offer content in Spanish such as Platzi, Blockdemy, and Le Wagon.
Our achievements:
-
More than 15 IRL Workshops and Meetups in different cities in LATAM like Mexico City, Bogotá, and Medellín Colombia, Lima Perú and Sao Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
-
More than 10 webinars to teach about Web3.
-
+55 people have been sponsored to attend hackathons and conferences. (EthMéxico, EthBogota, Devcon, EthLATAM, EthSanFrancisco)
- +20 hackathon projects
- +20 bounties reached
- 3 finalists teams
We need help to keep giving scholarships to women and also, to create a community Newsletter to keep providing quality content, Share information about Zero Knowledge and our Front-end hacks projects, and keep teaching more women in Latin America in a safe way about the Blockchain ecosystem, specially Optimism, an L2 build on Ethereum, so they know how to use it while is faster, with cheaper fees and the same security as Ethereum.
