Season 8 Reflection Period Guide

Please note the new protocol upgrade process will go into effect starting August 1st.

June 12th - June 18th: Reflect

June 19th - June 25th: Review

  • Register to vote as a Citizen in Season 8 - learn more about eligibility in the docs
  • Familiarize yourself with the Season 8 Intent
  • Feedback
    • Any governance participation may provide feedback on proposal drafts posted to the forum. Governance participation may also choose to facilitate calls to further discuss proposals with authors.
  • Approve

    • Delegates or Citizensā€™ must provide approvals on proposals not authored by the Foundation or Budget Board by posting the below phrase in a comment under a proposal draft

      ā€I am an Optimism delegate [link to your delegate commitment] with sufficient voting power and I believe this proposal is ready to move to a vote."

      ā€I am an Optimism Citizen [link to your attestation] and I believe this proposal is ready to move to a vote.ā€

      Each of the below proposals requires 4 approvals by June 25th at 19:00 GMT in order to move to a vote in for Special Voting Cycle #39a.

June 26 - July 2: Vote

Voting Cycle #39a

  • Vote on DAO Operating Budget (Token House)
  • Ratify Season 8 Intent (Token House + Citizensā€™ House)
  • If applicable:
    • Vote on Grants Council Lead/Charter (Token House)
    • Vote on Milestones and Metric Lead/Charter (Token House)
    • Vote on Developer Advisory Board Lead/Charter (Token House + Citizensā€™ House)
    • Any amendments to Anticapture Commission (Token House)

July 3 - July 14: Nominate & Review

  • Anyone that would like to run to be a Council or Board member may self-nominate themselves on OP Atlas before July 14th at 19:00 GMT.
  • Any operating budgets put forth during this period will also require approvals before July 16th at 19:00 GMT
  • If applicable
    • Grants Council (Delegates)
    • Milestones and Metrics Council (Delegates)
    • Security Council (Delegates)
    • Developer Advisory Board (Delegates + Citizens)

July 17 - July 23: Vote

Voting Cycle #39b

Elections, as applicable:

  • Grants Council [Link to be added] (Token House)
  • Milestones and Metrics Council [Link to be added] (Token House)
  • Developer Advisory Board [Link to be added] (Token House + Citizensā€™ House)

Operating Budgets, as applicable:
