Alt-DA Mode is now available for the OP Stack!

OP Stack chains can now leverage Alt-DA Mode to submit transaction batches to any alternate data availability layer outside of L1, lowering costs. Any data availability layer can now build and maintain their own data server and integrate into the OP Stack.

This feature is still in beta. Optimism core contributors are still improving Alt-DA Mode.

:ballot_box: Final elected members to the Developer Advisory Board:

Elected board members: Wildmolasses, devtooligan, blockdev, noah.eth and wbnns.

The Board Lead will appoint the Upgrade Czar and Ops Lead roles based on who received the highest vote percentage among the candidates who have self-nominated for that role (blockdev and wildmolasses respectively).

Conduct Council Is Renewed

The Code of Conduct Council’s new budget proposal has been approved, renewing the council for Season 6. The budget of 26.000 OP accounts for 5 council members and a Council Lead. Delegates will vote to elect these 5 council members in the next Voting Cycle.

If you wish to self-nominate, post your nomination in this thread following this template before June 27th.

Amendment Proposals Are Approved

In the latest voting cycle, two amendments were approved. The Chain Delegation Program Amendment proposal, increases the program’s size to 20M OP and outlines new qualifying criteria. The Anti Capture Commission Amendment refines its mandate, goals, and membership criteria, also passed.

Fjord Network Upgrade moves to Citizens Veto Vote

After receiving enough votes in the Token House Votes, protocol upgrade #9 moves to a Citizens’ House Veto Vote. This protocol upgrade will include FastLZ, Brotli compression algorithm, implementation of RIP-7212, and new parameter changes.

If you disagree with the upgrades, you may cast your vote on Snapshot. A veto requires 45 veto votes. If you do not wish to veto but would like to register your participation in this voting cycle, you may select “No Veto”.

Retro Funding 4: Ratification of profit formula

A deliberative process was conducted to come to consensus on a definition of profit, to be applied to this retro round. Randomly selected badgeholders deliberated in three sessions and reached consensus on an applicable formula:

Impact - ((10% * Token House Growth Grants) + (45% * Token House Builders Grants) + (25% * Foundation Grants)) = Award in OP

The consensus is that the formula will only take into account Optimism Grants, deducting from impact previous growth, builder and foundation grants, resulting in a project’s reward. Ratification requires a quorum of 30% eligible voters and a simple majority of 51% votes. If it is not ratified, no profit formula will be applied, focusing only on impact.

Ratification voting will take place on Snapshot from June 20 to 26th.
Retro Funding 4 voting will begin on June 27th.
