I am going to vote yes here due to reasonable amount and LATAM outreach as I mentioned above.
Hey! Are you using OP to incentivize this learning? Or is it just for the work to create the content?
My concern always with incentivizing engagement through courses or whatnot is that people will go on, explore the course or do whatever to receive the incentive, and then not engage further with the targeted ecosystem. I would love to hear how you plan to funnel people who complete your course to keep on engaging in the Optimism ecosystem.
I think that spreading web3 to diverse communities is really important, LATAM included, and I think content is necessary to do this. I represent Blockchain@USC and right now I’m leaning towards approving this proposal.
Hey there!
No, OP is to cover the work to create and spread the content.
We will only offer some incentives to content creators; people among our community that are becoming creators themselves. We will gamified the activity so it’s more fun for them.
As per your vision on incentivized engagement, we did quite a few experiments with learn-to-earn models and gathered good insights on them. While it is true some people just go through the content to receive the incentive, there is a good share of the participants that gets “caught” by the content and keeps going deeper despite there are no further incentives.
But the biggest added value IMHO is that it’s a good tool to spread awareness and get more people to understand a product. Similarly to how you would pay for ads on TV, podcasts or Social Media. That said, it is worth mentioning that our learn-to-earn experiments where very niche, didn’t target thousands of people but were focused on our community and involved getting through quite a lot content, not just 1 or 2 questions and a few clicks to do a swap or mint an NFT.
As per further engagement; our focus is in giving people tools to give their next step in crypto. We expect that spreading the Optimistic Vision and values will lean members on our community to give their next step within the Optimistic Ecosystem. We will share with them all opportunities we see along the way.
Many members of our community are collaborating with several projects among the industry, including @Pumbi (who is also part of our team) and @Hirooo, both collaborating with @OptimismEsp.
Thanks for the support!
To be clear, although they are labeled as “collaborators”, both @Pumbi and @Hirooo receive a monthly salary at Optmism Español, we clarify this in our presentation.
We also wanted to clarify that although we share collaborators, @OptimismEsp activities are not related to Solow, we are different cryptocommunities but we both aim to grow the Optimism ecosystem.
Stay Optimistic

In-depth analysis
Newsletter sendout
It was definitely the most fun and important part. We believe we were able to put to words all our learning and research while maintaining our very defined writing and communicating style, which includes jokes, analogies and out-of-context references.
Feedback received by our community was very good and open rates averaging 25% are a proof of the interest we were able to raise.
Important: while on our original proposal the plan was to deliver 8 send-outs, we consider there’s some additional ideas and concepts worth explaining, so we will go beyond our initial commitment. We will keep you informed of the details on further updates.
Blogpost
We had launched our blog a few weeks before starting to work on the mission. We are very happy with the results and all the content around Optimism. There are very few other places on Spanish Speaking Internet with so much orginal content on OP.
You can check all the articles here.
IMPORTANT: our blog is composed mostly of our newsletter send-outs, so there will also be more posts than expected.
Courses
We already have 3 courses on our platform. You can check them out by login in at solow.io. The courses present the content in a fun, engaging way and include quizzes.
They were published very recently and we haven’t made the announcement yet, so we don’t have good measures of their impact. We will bring in more information on our next update.
Here you have a screenshot for reference:
Videos
Our first video was published a few weeks ago. It didn’t have much of an impact with about 50 views, which is less than expected.
We came up with a few ideas to make impact bigger for the next videos:
- Publish them on Twitter as well as Youtube
- Create a short reel out of the video to raise interest
Additionally, in the next weeks we will edit our blog articles to include the videos in their respective post as well. This will help both the blog be better and the video get more views. It’s also part of our SEO long term strategy.
Here is a screen of the video so you get an idea of our style:
Next Steps
We still have a lot of work to do,:
Content-to-earn
The first content-to-earn session is coming this week, we are very excited to see how it goes. We also expect it to boost video views and courses completion.
Interviews and Workshop
We are scheduling our last interview and the 2 workshop sessions stated on our proposal.
Whoever would like to join us in making it great please let us know. We are super happy with doing more interviews than expected, and having some extra sessions for the workshops if there is more value to be added.
Request for feedback & ideas
This is an open request for feedback or ideas on:
- the quality of the content we created so far
- topics we might want to include that are not covered through our newsletters
- how to have a bigger impact, mostly regarding the reach of our videos and the coming interviews and workshops
- the proposal itself. Please, very important!! Would love to know if there’s something you think I should have included in the proposal or something that could (should) be more clear.
- whatever you think is valuable!
All that being said, Stay Optimistic my frens.
See you soon,
Santi, representing the whole Solow team.
Very happy to know that Solow it’s wotking like a swiss Watch.
Looping forward to Read all the newsletter that you already published
Thanks ser! Please let us know what you like and what you don’t so we can improve
The more feedback the better, specially coming from people knowledgeable of Optimism.
Hi @santicristobal!
As Season 4 draws to a close this week, we’re so excited to see how you’ve executed on your Mission! Please post an update for the community here outlining the milestones you’ve met this Thursday (9/20) by 19:00 GMT. Please include links to any final work products as we’ll create a final roundup linking to all Mission deliverables.
We also encourage you to sign-up for RetroPGF Round 3. You’ll be able to describe the impact of your Mission when you sign-up: RetroPGF Round 3 Applications Are Open
Thanks again for being part of this experiment and helping us build the Collective
Hey everyone! Time for our second forum update.
We did a lot of stuff, so this will be long. But bear with me, I’ll promise I’ll do my best to make you smile. If I had to resume our mission in 1 sentence, it’d the following:
Thanks to the work accomplished during our mission Solow is now one the biggest sources of original Optimism-related content in Spanish.
TL;DR
- We created more content than agreed.
- Feedback from community has been very good.
- Reach was better for written content than for videos.
- We have some live stuff scheduled for next 2 weeks and.
Our commitment
We committed to create the following content:
- 8 Newsletter sendouts
- 8 Blogposts
- 4 Courses
- 4 Youtube videos
- 2 Interviews
- 2 Content to earn sessions
- 2 Workshops
- 1 Twitter Space
Newsletter Sendout and blog
While we had commited to do 8 articles, we decided to write additional content to talk about the Ambassador Program. All 9 articles where sent through our newsletter, summing up a total of 8354 views. This is better than expected.
Here is the detail:
- Optimism: una nueva forma de gobernarnos
- ¿Cómo funciona Optimism? Bloques, batches y otras cositas
The main achievements of this work are:
- creating a repository of top-notch original written content.
- raising interest among our community and Latam’s ecosystem with over 25% open rate.
- receiving excellent feedback from people engaging with the content.
Courses
We crafted 6 courses on Optimism, 2 more than expected. Our initial commitment was doing 4 courses, but we decided to go beyond our mission to provide our students with a comprehensive overview of the Optimism ecosystem.
You can check all courses by login in at solow.io. The courses present the content in a fun, engaging way and include quizzes.
The reach of the courses is lower than anticipated, with 56 completions. The good news is that the courses are forever available on our platform, so we expect that number to grow considerably in the following months together with Latam’s ecosystem.
The main achievements of this work are:
- explaining Optimism’s key components in a fun and engaging way
- laying down the foundations for future ecosystem growth through our platform.
Here’s a comprehensive report with all the data involving the courses.
Videos
Similarly to what we did with articles and courses, we went beyond our initial commitment to do more videos than expected. Our mission stated that we would do 4 videos, and we did 5 long videos, plus several 1-2 minute videos that we will be publishing in the next weeks.
Here is the list of videos:
- Optimism y una nueva forma de gobernanza
- ¿Cómo funciona Optimism?
- Bedrock y el OP Stack de Optimism
- Optimism y los RetroPGF
- La superchain, el futuro de Optimism
Here is a screen of one of our videos so you get a sense of how they look.
Many videos have been published very recently, so it’s hard to measure their full impact so far. The goal was to reach between 1000-2000 views for all videos (including interviews and workshops). During our mission, we noticed that we could publish our videos not only on Youtube but also on Twitter to have a bigger impact. Additionally, we created teasers and short videos based on the original content to better engage with our community. This strategy has proven very effective and summing up Twitter and Youtube views we expect to reach our estimates.
Here is an example of the short videos we will be working with. I’m sure you will agree with my mother that I need a haircut which is my way to say any feedback is more than welcomed
The main achievements of this work are:
- finding the way to increase impact through other channels once we noticed Youtube was not bringing expected results.
- creating a Youtube list that will attract future learners to our Optimism courses.
Interviews
In our mission to Spread Optimistic Values through Latam, we committed to interviewing 2 delegates:
- The first interview we had was with @brichis: Conociendo Optimism junto a Brichis, who kindly shared her time and ideas with us.
- We have already agreed to record the second interview with @joxes next week.
We are super happy to be able to amplify their voices and keep strengthening Latam’s participation. And we are also very proud of the work they are doing to represent our region, so, once again, thank you both
Content-to-earn sessions
We had committed to do 2 learn-to-earn sessions. This is a very flexible format we often use to engage with our community in fun, unexplored ways. The main goal is to incentivize and recognize community members getting involved with our ecosystem and, in particular, with Optimism.
We priced 3 community members with 25, 15 and 10 USDC for their contributions following this set of rules.
Here are the winners and the transactions with their prices.
- @Atilioacm - OP Mainnet Transaction Hash (Txhash) Details | Optimism
- @Lorrena__ - OP Mainnet Transaction Hash (Txhash) Details | Optimism
- @Gaufgang - OP Mainnet Transaction Hash (Txhash) Details | Optimism
The second learn-to-earn session will take place this week. We will keep you posted on the results.
Live session - Workshops and Twitter Spaces
We committed to doing 2 workshops and 1 Twitter Spaces. We decided to do both workshops and the Spaces on RetroPGF, because we strongly believe it represents an unprecedented opportunity for projects in Latam to receive funding according to their impact.
In order to make the most out of our efforts and have a higher impact on our ecosystem, we decided to go beyond the expected dates and scheduled them for the last weeks of September and the first weeks of October. This decision comes from our belief that the live sessions will be much more impactful now that RetroPGF 3 is live.
The scheduled dates are the following:
- Twitter Spaces: Wednesday 27th of September, 19hs GMT-3
- Workshop 1: week of 2nd of October in collaboration with Proof of Integrity
- Workshop 2: Wednesday 4th of October, 19hs GMT-3
Of course we will keep you posted with the results.
In order to share the original content we created and to engage with our community, we created several publications related to Optimism, which include but are not limited to threads, videos, quests, games and announcements.
While I believe sharing links to all our publications won’t add real value to this update (there are over 25 tweets), I would like to share with you a “thread-of-threads” which includes some of the threads we’ve done so far.
Conclusion
Working with the Optimism Collective has been an incredible pleasure. We are very satisfied with our results and look forward to the Collective’s feedback. We are also full of learnings that we will treasure and 100% implement for next missions or collaboration opportunities.
This is not a goodbye, but simply a see you soon. Thanks again for trusting us
Stay Optimistic my frens

Hohoho. Look at those numbers
Nice to see that you work a lot in this project. In Nacion Bankless we are aware of the magnificent builders that Solow has and we are very happy and proud of what was built.

Hi everyone! Time for our 3rd forum update.
I know there are many things going on so I will keep it short.
We created one of the biggest content repositories in Spanish there is, with over 30 pieces of content and a dedicated page inside our website.
TL;DR
- We created more content than agreed (and we are still doing some cool stuff)
- We created an Optimism page on our website to display all our original content
- We combined all the existing courses, videos, and content into an Optimism learning path that covers all you need to get involved.
- We are currently doing a free live Layer 2 course that will have a specific session on Optimism by @Pumbi, our head of content and also part of the @OptimismEsp team.
Our Mission commitment
We committed to creating the following content:
- 8 Newsletter send-outs
- 8 Blogposts
- 4 Courses
- 4 Youtube videos
- 2 Interviews
- 2 Content to earn sessions
- 2 Workshops
- 1 Twitter Space
What we delivered
We ended up doing:
- 9 newsletter send-outs
- 9 blog posts
- 6 courses
- 5 videos
- 2 Interviews with delegates from Latam: Brichis and Joxes
- 2 Content to earn sessions: session 1 and session 2
- 3 workshops (together with Proof of Integrity):
- how to apply to retroPGF
- Optimism Governance
- Building our own Public Goods
- 1 Twitter space
We also:
- generated several short videos for Twitter and YouTube out of the interviews
- wrote several Twitter threads summarizing the articles
- created several mini-lessons for our website out of the courses
The result is we got:
- Articles: more than 8k newsletter opens
- Videos: more 5500 views on Youtube and Twitter
- over 30 pieces of content on our website, featured on Optimism @ Solow
- a complete learning path on Optimism
Things to improve:
- we had to reschedule some content and activities, so we ended up doing some of the stuff in October.
- we announced the first we created videos through links on Twitter and then realized it’s much better to upload the videos to Twitter as well as Youtube.
- some of the courses we created didn’t have the impact we were expecting, so we made the content more easily available by adapting them to blog-like pieces and uploading to our website
Thanks again for the opportunity of working with the Collective. We are really excited for what’s cooking up here and looking forward to reshape the world together.
Best,
Santi, representing the Solow team and community
