Specification

How will this Delegate Mission Request help accomplish the above Intent?

This request seeks to implement a robust system that ensures the secure and encrypted entry of real-world information onto the blockchain. The option to provide users and companies with an encrypted data input system enables many industries like medicine, agronomists, or even states the possibility to enable their users the option to save their information in a blockchain-secure way and improve the consumer experience.

Please explain alignment with the relevant Intent

The enhanced security provided by the blockchain ensures that consumer data is handled with the utmost integrity and confidentiality, fostering trust among users. Furthermore, the creation of a user-friendly interface as part of this mission contributes directly to improving the overall consumer experience, making the process of interacting with Optimism more accessible, intuitive, and efficient for end-users.

What is required to execute this Delegate Mission Request?

The responsibilities include the development of a secure data entry protocol, integration with existing blockchain infrastructure, and the creation of a user-friendly interface for data input. Expected deliverables include a detailed implementation plan, a functional prototype, and comprehensive documentation.

Please list responsibilities and/or expected deliverables

  1. System Design and Development:

    • Design and implement a secure data entry protocol that prioritizes consumer data confidentiality.
    • Develop the necessary backend infrastructure for handling and processing real-world information on the blockchain securely.
  2. Blockchain Integration:

    • Integrate the developed system seamlessly with the existing blockchain infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and efficient data flow.
    • Conduct thorough testing to validate the integration’s reliability and performance.
  3. User Interface Development:

    • Design and create a user-friendly interface for entering real-world information onto the blockchain.
    • Implement intuitive controls and features that enhance the overall consumer experience during data entry.
  4. Documentation:

    • Provide comprehensive documentation outlining the technical specifications, protocols, and integration processes.
    • Create user guides to assist consumers in navigating the new data entry system effectively.
  5. Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct rigorous testing to identify and rectify any potential security vulnerabilities or system glitches.
    • Ensure that the implemented solution meets industry standards for data security.
  6. Project Management:

    • Develop and adhere to a detailed project plan outlining key milestones and timelines.
    • Regularly communicate progress updates to the Token House, highlighting achievements and addressing any challenges encountered.
  7. Training and Support:

    • Develop training materials to educate users on the new data entry system.
    • Provide ongoing support to address user queries and concerns related to the system.
  8. Post-Implementation Evaluation:

    • Conduct a post-implementation review to assess the effectiveness of the system in improving consumer experience.
    • Gather feedback from users to identify areas for further refinement or enhancement.
  9. Security Audit:

    • Engage in a third-party security audit to validate the robustness of the implemented security measures.
    • Address any security concerns raised during the audit to ensure the highest level of data protection.

How should the Token House measure progress towards this Mission?

  1. Protocol Development: Milestones for the completion of the secure data entry protocol, with an expected completion date: 2 months since mission approval.
  2. Blockchain Integration: Progress updates on the integration of the system with the blockchain infrastructure, including completion dates for key integration phases: 4 months since mission approval.
  3. User Interface: Track the development and testing of the user interface, specifying completion dates for key interface components: 6 months since mission approval.

How should badgeholders measure impact upon completion of this Mission?

  1. Security Assessment: Conduct an audit of the implemented security measures and provide a report on vulnerabilities addressed.
  2. Usability Feedback: Gather user feedback on the interface’s usability and efficiency, with a focus on improving the user experience.
  3. Data Entry Accuracy: Measure the accuracy and integrity of real-world information entered into the blockchain compared to the source data.

Have you engaged a Grant-as-a-service provider for this Mission Request?
No.

Has anyone other than the Proposing Delegate contributed to this Mission Request? If so, who, and what parts of this application did they contribute to? No, just verified if this was feasible with a few devs.

This seems like a super interesting proposal. It would enable Optimism (or any OP Stack chain) to participate in DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure)!

I am interested in the space and have looked into it for my project: Stamp.

I think this is a huge overtake, and it would be interesting to analyze if there’s room for collaboration with the IoTeX team, which has already developed a lot of this type of tooling for W3bstream, which is a sort of oracle for real-world data sources.

Will reach out to the IoTeX team to help with the proposal and provide some feedback.

The proposal tier says Fledgling. Does this imply that the work specified can only be delivered by teams with a Trust Tier of “Fledgling” or higher?

Should have said “Ember” thank you. And yes only Ember or above tiers can apply.

If done correctly (Good UX, practical uses, secure, etc). I believe this Mission can bring immense value to the Collective!

Hi @Gonna.eth , I understand what you want to do but not sure why ? whats the use case ?

I thought of this as a simple tool for a project to start playing with records on-chain to create some sort of immutable traceability. Say you have a farm and the farm machines upload information about seeds, amount of water, etc. Later on, you want to sell the farm and the buyer wants a history of your farm you can’t alter. Your medical records with encrypted access from your wallet could be another use.

Hey @Gonna.eth – just wanted to flag this as a proposal that still needs delegate approvals in order to move to a vote. If you are no longer interested in pursuing this proposal – please disregard this message. In order to see the delegates assigned to your proposal those can be found here. The deadline to provide feedback and approvals for Mission Requests is February 7th at 19:00

Cheers!

I like experimentation in this area as this already has some real world usecases as a durable medium solution (and there is for example a bank in Poland that is doing this using mainnet Ethereum as a DA already).

I’m an Optimism delegate with sufficient voting power and I believe this proposal should move to a vote.

can you share more about the bank and the project?
