Bootcamp Women in Web3 by Women Biz

Hi everyone, Iā€™m grateful to have been part of women biz to understand much better that blockchain go beyond cryptocurrencies. Because before I had a very negative thought about cryptocurrencies, I thought they were just scams, and I didnā€™t understand the technology behind it, nor about DAOs and governance systems like Optimism that I found very nice.
I really want to continue learning and deepening my knowledge on web3 because I love learning, so I can also help other people to educate and see the other side of cryptocurrencies.
Having participated was a real challenge, I did not think that I would become a writer, haha, good at doing every task. Really a thousand thanks to @cryptommy and all the girls and people behind.

Interesting perspective. Do you feel like an initiative like this has a negative effect on what youā€™ve accomplished in some way? Iā€™m trying to understand what you find slightly insulting. Like, do you see this as some kind of training wheels that suggests women canā€™t actually make it in crypto without some extra help? And maybe the same principle would apply to any other identity based program?

These workshops do have an impact of developing and under developed nations if not in developed countries as Education and Awareness still is important for Women Folks. OP has great ecosystem that can be a case study for them.

Exactly, agree with you :muscle:t2:

It is not the same education in developed countries as in those that are just emerging. Laws in underdeveloped countries often favor men in terms of salaries. There are still cases here where only men have the right to work and women to the home. Knowing that this was left in past centuries, that is why we want to change the idea that women can also be business leaders and work on our own projects.

Regards!

Awesome. We have similar but low key as of now initiative by @bubli.eth for Women folks in India. Appreciate all you leaders taking these steps.

Its not about gender but about creating awareness and informing opportunities that can be capitalized on.

Hello! My name is Jashira Meza, Iā€™m an eternal learner, and Iā€™m thrilled to be part of this amazing bootcamp, initiative of @criptomommy. :purple_heart: This is my first approach to Web3, and every week I learn a lot, itā€™s a new world with many opportunities for me. :red_circle::sparkles:

What I like most about this bootcamp is that it doesnā€™t stay in theory but motivates us to put everything into practice with weekly challenges. I love that these spaces are being opened to empower more Latinas, with the goal of increasing female participation in the technology industry :rocket:

Iā€™d like to express my wholehearted support for this endeavor, underscored by the dynamic community it fosters and its capacity to deliver substantive diversity within the Collective.

In honing their focus on what matters most to themā€”namely, fostering financial literacy and inclusion for women within emerging economiesā€”the project has assumed a leadership position as Optimism educators in Latin America. Through their endeavors, they are effectively propagating awareness and stewarding heightened engagement in governanceā€”a trajectory that warrants emulation in other regions.

This is not diversity flag waving to prey on wokeness.

Previously, initiatives in Latin America have pledged growth through the dissemination of Optimism-centric content in Spanish. However, the outcomes have been lackluster, owing to their limited regional reachā€”a shortcoming glaringly revealed by quality metrics, rather than vanity metrics.

I donā€™t think weā€™ve seen many other localized projects transparently and tangibly create this level of participation. This should be applauded.

I acknowledge the industryā€™s skepticism, stemming from past disillusionment with projects that merely pay lip service to diversity. If youā€™re tired of the finnesing by diversity flag waving, like I am, I implore you to omit the ā€œwomen in web3ā€ part and compare it to other LatAm based projects. The difference in transparent and tangible results are clear.

Hi everybody! My name is Raquel Sanchez, and I from Peru :peru: Iā€™m delighted to share that Iā€™ve been a participant in this bootcamp and we will have our graduation this Saturday! :fireworks:

I would like to reflect on my experience here. It has been an incredible learning journey for me. As a pschologyst with a passion for technology, I lacked the technical expertise to build by my own projects. When I saw this opportunity in Web 3, I saw it as an excellent chance to broaden my knowledge and, the best part was that it was free! Success depended entirely on your commitment to studying.

Over the past 6 weeks, weā€™ve explored numerous of terms that were once difficult to understand in the past, such as NFTā€™s, Web 3, Optimism, smart contracts, DApps, wallets, and more! Additionally, being surrounded by fellow women has made me feel supported and engaged with this beautiful community.

Thanks a lot @criptomommy for making this journey possible!
