Sov - Delegate Communication Thread

Greetings, Optimism community!

Delegate Statement: https://vote.optimism.io/delegates/sovereignsignal.eth

I’m @SovereignSignal on X and @Sov on Farcaster. My professional background is in operations, grant program development, and management. I currently lead BD, Partnerships, and Programs at Gitcoin, where I assess and manage grant programs across the ecosystem. I am also a member of the Optimism Grants Council for Season 6.

I’m committed to active participation in governance discussions. I can be found on Telegram as @sovsignal, and I encourage you to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas you’d like to discuss.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure:

  • I hold OP tokens as a delegate
  • I work for Gitcoin, which may apply for or receive grants from Optimism

I’ll use this thread to post updates as necessary.

I want to make a statement here about an incident with voting where I made an unintended mistake. The vote in question was for the Rolling Mission Requests

As an active member of the grants council I am not supposed to vote for/against on this proposal as outlined in the optimist expectations at Voting Cycle Roundup #27 - #5 by lavande

I did not realize this when casting my vote and do not have the ability to reverse the action. According to the optimist expectations, delegators are encouraged to reconsider their delegations if a member is found to be in violation of these policies.

I apologize for the error and will be more cognizant of proposals that overlap with my role on the grants council moving forward.
