I hope I’m not breaking the rules with this topic and understand how much of a bonehead move it was. Just hoping for any kind of sound advice to recover my funds.
I mistakenly sent my entire USDT balance from Bitunix to Coinbase using the wrong network (Optimism). I was tired and misunderstood the instructions for supported networks and now have no way to recover the funds.
I’ve contacted Coinbase support multiple times, but they keep directing me back to Bitunix, while Bitunix insists that only Coinbase can help since the transaction is complete and they hold the keys to the USDT-Optimism wallet. The Coinbase agents mentioned that if they support USDT on the Optimism network in the future, they might be able to deposit the funds into my account. A last ditch effort by one Coinbase rep was to reach out to the Optimism community about it…and so here I am.
These funds are extremely important for me right now and I feel like I’m running out of options. Any productive advice for recovering the funds asap would be beyond appreciated.
As for the topic matter: your assets is under Coinbase custody once deposited hence the network support deployment is also up to The Coinbase team now.
Thank you. The basic support reps all say the same thing and offer zero help. To get the coinbase team to actually put effort into helping me I assume someone with connections would have to help? Like a hiring a legitimate professional firm?
Btw…thanks for the warning. That link tried to scam me…wanted my seed phrase to my wallet. I assume there was never the possibility for them to recover the funds? just wanted to steal everything from that wallet moving forward?
Funds can’t be recovered by accessing your wallet data because assets already sent up to Coinbase custody and their internal deployment pipeline depends on their internal roadmap.
Doubt that any 3rd party side can’t somehow impact that factor other than Coinbase stuff.
