Mistakenly sent USDT to the USDT contract address, instead of the receiving exchange address

I was going to send 354.573835 USDT from my wallet to Okex exchange but I mistakenly copy-pasted the USDT token contract address (0x94b008aA00579c1307B0EF2c499aD98a8ce58e58) instead of the Okex deposit address.

I already contacted Tether support, but they said they are not the issuer of Optimism USDT tokens. Hence, I am reaching out to Optimism team to resolve this. Can the Optimism team help me recover the funds? Or can the tokens be sent back to the original sender address please.

Ouch, an expensive mistake, but mistakes do occasionally happen.
