Who are you?
Spencer Saar Cavanaugh, also operating as Clinamenic LLC, and I’ve been involved in DAOs in leadership capacities for the last few years (JournoDAO, PubDAO, DAO Coalition, etc). Lately I’ve been serving as a Steward of OpenCivics, having co-managed community grant rounds during GG19 and GG20. I’ve also been working as a freelancer under Clinamenic LLC, for various web3 organizations such as Consensys and Tally.
Why do you want to become a badgeholder?
I’m interested in becoming a badgeholder to help our collective efforts to mold how digital public infrastructure gets funded and developed. This area fascinates me on a theoretical level, and on a practical level I believe my experience can prove useful in this role.
What are your areas of expertise?
My area of expertise is in the nascent field of onchain organization design and operations, and within this field I’m especially enthusiastic about public goods.
I’ve written about various subjects in this domain, such as progressive public goods funding, methods for bootstrapping governance for onchain orgs, and techniques for reconciling “code is law” with accountability. I’m currently conducting research for LexDAO about how Hypercerts and EAS can be used to systemically assess impact across the field of legal engineering.

I have also recently set up my delegate profile for Optimism, where I go into further detail about my motivations for wanting to get involved in Optimism governance.
Will gladly share more info if needed! Happy to see some (highly capable) familiar faces signaling interest here as well.
