This Mission is focused on Improving Governance Accessibility through a series of 8 interactive workshops, led by active delegates and governance experts within the Optimism Collective. This four-week virtual cohort program, will combine live sessions, practical governance activities, and an incentivization mechanism, all designed to encourage commitment and effective learning.

Objectives and Intent Alignment

  1. Increase Governance Participation: Encourage active involvement from participants in governance activities.
  2. Educational Focus: Provide comprehensive education on the workings and nuances of governance within the Optimism ecosystem.
  3. Develop New Active Delegates: Target the creation of at least one new active delegate who is well-informed and ready to engage in governance activities.

Format and details

  • Frequency: Two workshops per week, for 4 weeks.
  • Interactivity: Each session will be live, fostering real-time engagement and discussion.
  • Recorded Sessions: All sessions will be recorded and made freely available as open-source content for the wider community.
  • Curated participants: Participants will be selectively chosen by the organizing team, ensuring a focused and dedicated group. (Priority will be given to individuals who demonstrate potential for long-term contribution to the Optimism ecosystem)

However, all workshop content will be accessible to the wider community. This approach ensures targeted and effective learning for the cohort, while still contributing to the broader community’s education and engagement.

Assessment and engagement

  • Onchain proof: Participants will receive attestations upon completion of each class, underscoring their learning and involvement.
  • Interactive Quizzes: At the end of each workshop, interactive Kahoot quizzes or tailored questionnaires will be provided. These assessments are designed to evaluate the participants’ understanding and knowledge acquisition from each session.
  • Practical-activity: At the end of most workshops, participants are required to undertake a governance activity, to apply its knowledge.
  • Incentive mechanism: Accepted participants that attend at least 75% of the sessions and successfully complete the activities will be compensated 100 OP**.** This ensures commitment and maximizes the likelihood of effective learning and active participation in governance.

Organizing Alliance Responsibilities: The alliance in charge of this Mission will take care of everything, from coordinating classes, liaising with the foundation, organizing guest speakers, and tracking participant progress.

  2. Create and execute the communication strategy for social media.

Token House delegates can assess progress towards this mission by monitoring the updates to the Governance Forum, which we suggest are done every 2 weeks.

Badgeholders can measure the impact of this mission using the following 5 KPI’s:

  2. Development of New Delegates: Count the number of participants who become active delegates in the following governance cycles.
