As one of the major developers of the OP Stack, it goes without saying that the team will be aligned with the needs of the Security Council. For this reason, I believe they should be included in this season’s election.

I am an Optimism delegate with sufficient voting power, and I believe this nomination should be included in the elections of this season.

Excited to see this nomination.

I trust Op Labs 100% to deliver this properly, but I’m asking the same question to every organization applying for the Security Council, and I believe these questions should be part of the standard template. At the end of the day, there’s one human signing.

  1. How are the signers or representatives for this position elected or selected within Labs?
  2. What mechanisms are in place to ensure individual accountability for actions or decisions taken in this role?
  3. How is responsibility distributed and managed internally to maintain transparency and reliability?

please no names, I am just asking if you have a method in place to elect your signers and keep track of their actions for accountability and transparency.

Thank you, @Gonna.eth.

OP Labs’ signer was appointed based on their demonstrated history of technical expertise working with the OP Stack, security wherewithal, and longstanding reputation within the company and industry. For the safety and security of this individual, their identity is kept private.

The key holder’s use of the signing key is monitored by members of OP Labs’ broader security and engineering teams (who, among other things, monitor governance outcomes and review proposed upgrades).

Both the individual key holder and those that support them are also bound by, and accountable to, contractual terms and internal company policies governing the services they provide to OP Labs and their use of company information and property.

Finally, like all council members, OP Labs is subject to the Optimism Security Council’s internal and external operating procedures designed to support transparency and reliability.
