Democratic Topic Selection

We use innovative community agenda games called Cagendas to ensure discussions reflect what matters most to the community. This process helps us efficiently explore complex topics while maintaining genuine community input. Through formats like OPTOPICS, we enable:

  • Collaborative topic proposals
  • Democratic prioritization of discussions
  • Dynamic topic transitions during events
  • Balanced stakeholder input

Community members can help shape discussions through:

  • Optimism Fractal Respect tokens (earned through peer evaluation)
  • OP tokens (Token House)
  • Citizens’ House badges

We’re continuously refining these mechanisms to create fair, inclusive ways for all stakeholders to influence conversations. Learn more about how it works and how you can guide our discussions at OptimismTownHall.com/FAQ.

Related Events

Our discussions follow the weekly Optimism Fractal Respect Game at 17:00 UTC. While operating independently, these complementary events create a powerful learning experience. The Respect Game offers a unique platform for builders to showcase work, earn reputation, and gain additional influence in Town Hall discussions through peer evaluation.

Learn more about Optimism Fractal Respect Games in the Optimism Fractal Season 5 Thread and RSVP for all events presented by Optimystics on the events calendar.

Seasons of Optimism: Part 2 - Continuing Our Discussion

Hey all, hope everyone’s having an amazing week and looking forward to this week’s event! As per the approved topic proposal, we’ll play OPTOPICS again at the town hall to choose our discussion topics from several important updates and reflections that were on the agenda last week but we didn’t get the chance to discuss.

Currently leading in votes are discussions about RetroFunding Round 6, the recent “Recognizing Impact” article, exciting developments with Optimystics Tools, and the approved Optimism Fractal Respect Game Mission. You can explore details about each of these topics and more in this article. The topic proposal linked above also links to important topics regarding Optimism Season 7 and I also just published Eden Fractal 2025 strategy post that I encourage you to explore as well.

You can view and vote on topics here, and feel free to change your votes if your priorities have shifted since last week. While we’ll meet as scheduled on Thanksgiving, we may keep the session somewhat shorter to accommodate holiday plans. I’m very grateful for everyone in the community and looking forward to seeing you at the event!

Optimism Town Hall: Concluding 2024 & Building Across the Superchain

As we approach our final Optimism Town Hall of 2024, I’m excited to share developments that will enhance our capacity for meaningful governance discussions and ecosystem-wide collaboration across the rapidly expanding Superchain.

Following our approved proposal, Wrapping up 2024: Looking Forward Together, which received the most votes by Monday’s 17 UTC deadline, this Thursday’s Town Hall will continue using OPTOPICS with our existing topics poll.

OPTOPICS Event Format

As always with OPTOPICS, you can:

  • Vote on existing topics through weighted voting
  • Adjust your votes anytime before or during the event
  • Propose new topics in the Optimism Town Hall snapshot space
  • Guide topic transitions during our discussions
  • Learn more about how OPTOPICS works in this article

Strategic Evolution for 2025

After our winter break (December 20 - January 8), Optimism Town Hall will transition to a biweekly schedule starting January 9th, 2025. This change aligns with Optimism Season 7’s focus on Superchain interoperability and two significant proposals for Optimism Fractal.

As you can see in this post, I’ve created a new proposal to transition Optimism Fractal Respect Game events to a biweekly schedule and a second proposal that aims to evolve Optimism Fractal’s intents to match this new cadence while supporting ecosystem growth across the Superchain. The alignment between Optimism Town Hall and Optimism Fractal’s biweekly schedules will preserve our effective back-to-back event format—a structure that has successfully served both newcomers and experienced builders in the Optimism Collective since May.

These changes align with Optimism Season 7’s Intent focusing on interoperability across the Superchain. The increased time between events will allow deeper engagement with builders and leaders across various Superchain networks—from OP Mainnet to Base, Zora, Unichain, Ink, World, Celo, and beyond. While Optimism Town Hall and Optimism Fractal events move to a biweekly schedule, our community will maintain weekly connections through Eden Fractal events, available on the Optimystics Events Calendar. Eden Fractal events will advance governance, coordination, and public goods, including a new implementation of ORDAO on Base that pioneers interoperability across the Superchain.

For comprehensive context including recordings of our recent strategic discussions about these changes and Optimism Season 7, explore our “Optimism Fractal and Town Hall 2025 Planning: Strategic Evolution” article. The latest update includes last week’s thoughtful conversation about maximizing our collective impact in 2025 (which is also embedded below).

Join Our Final 2024 Session

Currently, the topics with the most votes in our poll are:

  1. Optimism Season 7 Developments
  2. Optimism Town Hall & Fractal 2025 Planning
  3. Approved Optimism Fractal Respect Game Mission

While our current leading topics align closely with these strategic developments, our flexible format ensures we can explore whatever matters most to our community. You’re welcome to modify your votes in the topics poll or introduce new discussion areas that deserve attention on the Optimism Town Hall Snapshot Space. Explore details about each of the 10 proposed topics on the agenda in the Seasons of Optimism blog post.

Join us Thursday as we conclude this transformative year and lay the groundwork for greater impact across the Superchain in 2025. Through collaborative dialogue and democratic coordination, we’re building infrastructure that enables more effective, inclusive governance throughout our rapidly growing ecosystem.

Looking forward to engaging in meaningful discussion as we chart an ambitious and optimistic path forward together!

Join us for a transformative Optimism Town Hall this Thursday at 18 UTC as we explore “Growing Together: Strategic Evolution for 2025” :sunrise:

Following the recent approval of bi-weekly schedules, we’re entering an exciting new phase of ecosystem development. Our discussion will examine how fractal communities can optimize coordination and create unprecedented impact across the Superchain. This strategic evolution builds on comprehensive research and community insights, setting the stage for enhanced collaboration and sustainable growth.

The strategic framework document by Dan Singjoy explores how communities like Optimism Fractal and Eden Fractal can collaborate to strengthen the broader fractal ecosystem. This vision was inspired by Tadas’s pioneering analysis of meeting cadences, development cycles, and funding mechanisms that can foster sustainable growth. You can review the complete discussion proposal and join the conversation in our Snapshot space.

To understand how these strategic developments are already transforming our ecosystem, watch our latest Town Hall episode exploring community evolution in 2025. You’ll discover how bi-weekly schedules and updated intents are creating new opportunities for enhanced collaboration across the Superchain and Ethereum’s Infinite Garden :seedling:

You’re welcome to RSVP at the events calendar where you can find a link to the zoom room.

Looking forward to exploring these transformative possibilities together!
