Dear Members of the Optimism Collective,
As we approach the conclusion of a transformative year, I’m excited to share two strategic proposals from Optimism Fractal that align with the Collective Intent focused on interoperability in Optimism Season 7. These initiatives, emerging from thoughtful community discussions at our events over recent weeks, optimize our infrastructure while creating new opportunities for growth across the rapidly expanding Superchain ecosystem.

Transition to Biweekly Schedule: Following a two week winter break (December 20 - January 8), this proposal would establish a new biweekly cadence for Optimism Fractal events starting January 9th, 2025. By alternating with Eden Fractal events, we maintain the vibrant weekly Respect Games our community values while creating space for deeper ecosystem engagement and accelerated implementation of our coordination tools.

Evolve Optimism Fractal Intents: This proposal introduces four key refinements to our intents document:
- Core Intent Statement: Streamlining “optimizing governance on the Optimism Superchain” to “optimizing governance on the Superchain”
- Event Cadence: Updating from weekly to biweekly schedule throughout document
- Contribution Prompt: Evolving from “What did I do this week to help Optimism?” to “What did I do to grow Optimism over the past two weeks?”
- Consensus Process: Adapting council operations to biweekly format while preserving our proven democratic mechanisms
As discussed in last week’s Town Hall episode embedded below, these changes directly support Optimism Season 7’s focused intent on interoperability across the Superchain. Our enhanced infrastructure with Eden Fractal deploying ORDAO on Base positions us to better evaluate impact across the expanding set of Stage 1 chains, while our evolved coordination frameworks provide essential support for both the Token House and Citizens’ House’s processes.
The first proposal to transition to biweekly events closes Thursday, while the second proposal to update our intents will remain open for consideration until January 9th.
