Optimism Fractal Season 5: Level Up with Weekly Respect Games on the Superchain

Hey @TheDoctor, thanks so much for your thoughtful comment and your interest in Optimism Fractal!

It’s great to hear you discovered the initiative. We’d love to help you explore the tools the community has been building and dive deeper into what we’re working on. Optimism Fractal just started a new season on May 15th after our seasonal break, so it’s a great time to learn about it.

Our next Optimism Fractal event is today (Thursday, July 10th) at 17 UTC. These events happen biweekly and focus on awarding contributions to the Optimism ecosystem and the broader Superchain. On alternating weeks, we also host Eden Fractal, which centers around improving collective decision-making and advancing governance tooling for broader societal impact. You can learn more about the current season in this forum thread, where we’re also sharing ongoing updates.

Since you’re researching DAO tools on Optimism, I think you’ll be especially interested in ORDAO—a set of smart contracts we’re developing to execute onchain governance functionality. Tadas recently launched a user-friendly front-end that makes it easy to submit proposals for onchain actions, including distributing Respect tokens.

There’s also a broader suite of tools we’ve been building to support democratic coordination. You can find an overview in this “Tools” article, which includes apps, resources, and background on how the ecosystem is evolving.

One of the key coordinating tools at the heart of the community is the Respect Game, which we play at both Eden Fractal and Optimism Fractal. The Respect Game is an amazing onchain social game that grows communities and makes governance fair, fun, and naturally scalable. We’ve also been actively testing the Fractalgram web app, which is used during the voting process of the game.

You’re warmly invited to join any of our upcoming gatherings, all listed on our calendar. Feel free to drop by anytime—whether it’s to try out the Respect Game, ask questions, or just learn more! We’d also love to hear more about what you’re working on and any findings from your DAO tools research on Optimism. Feel free to reach out here, in our Discord, or during one of our events. Always happy to connect and brainstorm.

Looking forward to seeing you at an upcoming event! Let us know if there’s anything we can help with.

Best wishes,
Rosmari
