Exploring Transformative Plans at Eden Fractal

Hi friends!

You’re invited to join Eden Fractal this Thursday at 17 UTC as we explore transformative plans for fulfilling our vision with Epoch 2 and new funding mechanisms :ocean::sparkles:

At this pivotal moment, our tools have matured and our infrastructure is ready to support ecosystem growth. We’re preparing for a momentous transition. After our seasonal finale on April 10th, we’ll take a break until May 22nd to prepare for our 3 year anniversary and the launch of Eden Fractal Epoch 2—implementing the vision we’ve developed together.

During the event, we’ll discuss two draft proposals:

:one: Eden Fractal Epoch 2 with ORDAO on Base, the Respect Game, and Captain’s Council

:two: The Fractal Fellowship & Development Fund

We encourage you to read Dan Singjoy’s post to get all the exciting details! Below you can find a brief summary on what to expect and ways to get involved… We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Proposals Overview

Tripartite Governance Architecture

The proposed Eden Fractal Epoch 2 implementation creates a sophisticated tripartite governance system with the Respect Game providing democratic evaluation as the judicial foundation, Captain’s Council for community deliberation as the legislative branch, and ORDAO enabling onchain execution as the executive function :classical_building:

Revolutionary Funding Mechanisms

The proposed Fractal Fellowship introduces a groundbreaking mechanism for ecosystem development — a pioneering experiment in capital allocation that transforms how communities support public goods. This democratic approach rewards builders for contributions to the fractal ecosystem.

The concept for the Fractal Development Fund aims to distribute resources based on Respect earned during events, through monthly distributions, season-end allocations, community-directed RetroPolls, and recognition for sustained contribution.

This framework represents a revolutionary experiment in democratic capital allocation that evaluates contributions through peer assessment, creates transparent records of value creation onchain, and distributes funding based on demonstrated impact :seedling:

Dear Optimism Fractal Community,

I’ve posted a topic proposal for the final Optimism Town Hall event of Optimism Fractal Season 5, happening in a couple hours. This will be a special session as we celebrate our achievements, review proposals, and prepare for Season 6!

Topic: Celebrating Our Progress & Planning for Season 6

During today’s Optimism Town Hall event, we’ll reflect on our significant accomplishments over the past six months, including our successful implementation of ORDAO, consistent Respect Games, and the countless collaborations we’ve fostered across the Superchain.

We’ll also discuss three proposals that emerged from our collaborative conversations at last week’s event (OTH 37: “Optimism Fractal Seasonal Rhythms”). One proposal has been formally submitted and is now approved by the Optimism Fractal Council:

  1. Seasonal Schedule Proposal: Starting Season 6 on May 15th following a two-event spring break. See the full proposal for implementation details and rationale.

And two proposals are in draft form:

  1. Participant Agreement Proposal: Implementing a simple agreement framework for Season 6. See the full draft proposal for implementation details and rationale.

  2. Change Time of Meetings: Some early thoughts about potentially changing the meeting times in our next season

We invite your thoughts and feedback on these proposals during our discussion. This is your chance to help shape these initiatives and ensure our plans for next season serve our community’s needs effectively. Your feedback is extremely valuable and much appreciated.

For additional context, I encourage everyone to watch last week’s discussion about these topics at OptimismTownHall.com/37. I deeply appreciate everyone’s participation throughout this season and look forward to seeing you all at today’s events!
