Retro Funding 5: Discussion on Random Sampling

Last week’s announcement clarified how voter will be selected for Retro Funding 5:

  • randomly sampling 90 Citizens – taken from existing Citizens
  • 30 one-time guest voters – selected from applications, open until July 14th)

There has been some discussion regarding the reason behind sampling Citizens. Optimism has posted their rationale behind random sampling, as a way to approximate the full set of Citizens without bias and scaling the Citizens’ House by using statistical, rather than political, methods.
