Mission request is a community suggestion under each Season’s intent, for the entire Optimism ecosystem to suggest improvements, the mission request does not specify a team to do it, but rather it is submitted and voted on by different teams, and the Grants Committee will review which team will do it. They are tightly scoped and can be accomplished start-to-finish in less than 12 months.
Mission Requests are usually made by active Delegates, but the community can also contribute, usually under the topic of Sponsorships.

What are some ideas for new mission requests that will help Optimism accomplish it’s goals of governance decentralization and/or more developers on the Superchain?
- Superchain Developer Education:Organise specific events, tutorials, workshops, provide a range of Op stack development courses and education etc.
- More decentralised governance decisions and communities: Engage more organisations in the Optimism ecosystem by designing a more decentralised governance model and collaboration model
- Incentivising Participation for a Stronger Optimism Collective: Incentivise governance engagement, provide more accurate analysis of governance data and reward governance participants
- Grants analysis: Researching different funding models to make Optimism’s funding model more sustainable
- Growth of Superchain Applications:Fund new hyperlink apps with a detailed Milestone funding plan, and think about keeping apps in the Optimism ecosystem for the long term.
