[Delegate Statement] Ezekiel Ekondu

Hello Optimism Collective :waving_hand:

My name is Ezekiel Ekondu, a student, designer, and Web3 content creator. I’m applying to become a delegate in the Optimism Collective with a strong interest in education, onboarding, UX, and public goods accessibility.

:brain: Background

I’m currently building my understanding of Optimism governance by actively reading proposals, participating in discussions, and learning how the Superchain operates. My background in design, storytelling, and community-focused content allows me to break down complex ideas into simple, digestible explanations — especially for new users and contributors.

As a student from the Global South, I’m particularly interested in how Optimism governance decisions impact:

  • New contributors
  • Students and early-career builders
  • Public goods adoption and awareness

:bullseye: Delegate Commitment

As a delegate, I commit to:

  • Actively participating in governance votes
  • Reading and engaging with proposals thoughtfully
  • Sharing clear and transparent voting rationale
  • Continuously improving my governance knowledge over time

While I am still early in my governance journey, I bring consistency, curiosity, and accountability, and I aim to grow into a long-term contributor within the Optimism ecosystem.

:megaphone: Communication Plan

  • I will publish brief explanations of my votes on the governance forum
  • I will share simplified summaries and perspectives to make governance more accessible
  • I will remain reachable through the forum and my public social channels
