Brichis - Delegate Communication Thread

Voting Cycle #39a (June 26 - July 2, 2025)

Season 8/9 Grants Council Charter
Vote: For
Reasoning: Excited to see the new changes: AI-led intake process, reviewers with deep Interop + DeFi experience, and continued evolution in impact measurement. Aside from that, I’ve worked side-by-side with Gonna on multiple occasions, and I can say he has my full trust; I know that everything he does comes from a deep love for Optimism.

Season 8/9 Milestones and Metrics Council Charter
Vote: For
Reasoning: The charter has minimal changes, mostly focused on the signing process. I believe there is no better contributor than Jun to be the Lead of the M&M, as he has been serving there since the inception of the Milestones and Metrics subcommittee/council, so it will be in good hands.

Governor Update Proposal: Removing Abstain Count from Quorum
Vote: Against
Reasoning: Considering that the most common recent use of abstain votes is to avoid conflicts of interest, I don’t consider this solution to address an actual problem, especially given that the larger delegate team (council) this season will consist of 8 delegates. Also, I’m concerned about scenarios like GFX where we have issues reaching quorum, and considering the changes made for S8, that probability exists at a higher rate than the issue being fixed by this proposal. I would prefer to wait until we experience this situation and observe how participation looks next season before approving this proposition.

Season 8/9 Developer Advisory Board Charter
Vote: For
Reasoning: I’m pleased to see how the DAB has become a backbone for the Collective. I’m glad they’re considering independence as one of the main changes to the charter and that they’re becoming the primary technical approval body for all Protocol Upgrades, as those proposals have been changed to be optimistically approved. On the other hand, I trust Ed as the Lead because I’ve witnessed his availability, openness, and proactivity, so the DAB couldn’t be in better hands.

Season 8: Intent Ratification
Vote: For
Reasoning: It makes sense to have a seamless continuation of the intent from last season, focusing on interoperability, growing the Superchain TVL, and driving developer adoption.

This cycle, I was super focused on building this dashboard for S7 grantees. In case you want to take a look, here’s the link:
