Coinbase launched Base on the OP Stack and is a core contributor to the underlying OP Stack. We contributed to the Security Council last term, and would be honored to carry this responsibility again.
Technical competency
Coinbase, and Base specifically, staff teams of protocol and smart contract engineers focused on bringing the world onchain. Outside of improving the Superchain by improving Base, we continue contributing upstream to Ethereum and the broader OP Stack.
Technical Contributions:
- Helped ship 4844 to all of Ethereum, possibly one of the most pivotal changes in Ethereum’s roadmap and opening up the door to bring the world onchain
- Have made tangible progress towards scaling Base as an OP chain to 1Ggas/s and beyond
- Launched fault proofs on Base
On security posture, Coinbase has maintained secure key management and signing processes for over a decade. We employ a diverse team of security experts focused on maintaining our high standards across the board.
Reputation
Base has grown into the top chain built on the OP Stack. The Base team is led by Jesse Pollak, the creator of Base and longtime contributor to the Ethereum ecosystem.
