The Developer Advisory Board (DAB) was initiated in Season 5. This thread will serve as the official channel for communications from the DAB to the Collective for the full 12-month term covering Seasons 8 and 9.
Purpose
The Developer Advisory Board serves the Collective by providing independent, expert technical judgment to secure and advance the Superchain. For Seasons 8 and 9, our mandate has expanded significantly, focusing on three core functions:
- Protocol Upgrade Approval: The DAB’s primary responsibility is to act as the Collective’s main technical approval body for all protocol upgrades. Serving as a liaison between voters and core devs, we’ll conduct rigorous diligence to ensure all upgrades are secure, well-reasoned, and aligned with the Collective’s long-term interests before they are executed.
- Developer Adoption Grants: The DAB operates dedicated grant programs to enhance ecosystem security and drive strategic developer adoption. This includes managing the Audit Grants Program to subsidize security audits and collaborating with the Foundation to execute high-impact Foundation Missions.
- Collective Advisory: The DAB continues to serve as a technical resource for the ecosystem, providing expert guidance to other councils and supporting builders through initiatives like office hours.
