Fjord Network Upgrade approved

Protocol Upgrade Proposal #9 was approved in the Citizens’ House without vetoes. This protocol upgrade will include FastLZ, Brotli compression algorithm, implementation of RIP-7212, and new parameter changes. The upgrade will be scheduled for execution on July 10th.

Applications to take part in Season 6 Code of Conduct Council are closed! Delegates will elect the five positions among the nominees during this voting cycle.

Retro Funding 4: Profit formula will not be considered in voting

The profit formula to potentially be included in Retro Funding 4 was put to a Citizen’s vote last week. It ultimately was not ratified by badgeholders with 34 to 20 votes.

No profit formula will be applied by badgeholders to calculate profit and assessment of projects will focus only on impact leveraging impact metrics. Retro Funding 4 voting begins today June 27th. More info in the Badgeholder Manual.

Guest Voters for Retro Funding 5

Retro Funding 5 will reward contributions in the OP Stack.

In RPGF 5, a random sample of 90 existing Citizens together with 30 one-time guest voters will participate in the round. If you are a developer contributing to the Optimism ecosystem, you can apply to be a guest voter until July 14th. Selection of guest voters is aimed at identifying voters with relevant technical competencies through their code contributions.

Retro Funding 5 will begin in August 2024.

Drafting Mission Requests

During this voting cycle, the Collective Feedback Commission and Grants Council will draft Mission Requests for Season 6. Drafts are due for July 7th, and will be proposed under each Intent in a suggested rank order.

Missions will be later approval ranked by Token House delegates casting a vote with their full voting power, on as many options as desired. Learn more in the Mission Request Voting Guide.
