Cycle 41 Results – Season 8 Audit Grants

We’re pleased to share the results of Cycle 41, marking the successful completion of the first cycle under Season 8 for Audit Grants.

Key Outcomes

  • Applications Approved: 2 (FinDEX – 90,300 OP; SuperDCA – 33,000 OP)

  • Applications on Hold (Considered for Later Approval): 2 (Arcadia Finance – 53,950 OP; Swaps.io – 87,500 OP)

  • Applications Rejected: 8 (Velvet, CrossCurve, Own Protocol, Reserve Protocol, Fluid, PWN, InkySwap, Majority Games)

Funding Overview

  • Total OP Requested (Audit Grants): 656,560 OP

  • Total OP Approved: 123,300 OP

  • Season 8 Audit Grants Budget: 581,726.40 OP

  • Remaining Budget: 458,426.40 OP

Highlights

Adjustment Period

As the first audit-focused cycle of S8, reviewers and applicants were adjusting to cadence, metrics, and expectations. Even so, all applications were reviewed thoroughly.

AI Filtering

AI-assisted filtering was not heavily used in this cycle, but the Council still plans to integrate more automated checks in future rounds.

Process Improvements

This cycle highlighted the importance of ASP (Audit Service Provider) contributions and realistic cost benchmarks. High audit costs and low ASP/project contributions were a recurring issue.

Conservative Start on Approvals

The Council approved FinDEX and SuperDCA this cycle. Two projects — Arcadia Finance and Swaps.io — are on Hold for later consideration, pending budget and ecosystem alignment.

Review Process

We prioritize projects that:
• Are open source.
• Are Superchain-focused.
• Are underfunded but demonstrate strong potential impact.
• Subsidize part of their own audit costs.
• Provide novel or unique code contributions.
