I’m writing this message to provide feedback on the Pectra Readiness proposal. There seems to be some confusion in the wording that may be causing some delegates to vote against it unintentionally.
At the end of the proposal, it states:
“This is an optimistic approval. Voters will be asked to vote for, against, or abstain.”
Since this is an optimistic approval, delegates can only vote against the proposal. It’s possible that some delegates believe they need to vote in favor to support it, when in reality, not voting is the correct way to approve it.
We can even see an example where a delegate explicitly states they support the proposal and are voting in favor, but their vote is actually counted against due to the voting structure.
To avoid confusion, it would be helpful to clarify that if you support the proposal, you do not need to vote, and this will not impact your voting metrics as a delegate.
