The SEED Gov delegation, as we have communicated here, with @Joxes being an Optimism delegate with sufficient voting power we believe this proposal is ready to move towards a vote.
Gauntlet has demonstrated awareness of risk and DAO operations both in Optimism governancce as well as other major DeFi groups. Based on past reports I have seen from them, I believe they have the necessary competencies to be considered for the election.
I am an Optimism delegate with sufficient voting power, and I believe this nomination should be included in the elections of this season.
Hey, I’ve always leaned toward voting for individuals rather than groups for security positions. My reasoning is that accountability is much clearer when a single individual is responsible. In this case, will someone at Gauntlet be taking on this responsibility specifically? Or is the entire group expected to share it? I’d also love to understand how Gauntlet envisions its participation internally for this role. Could you elaborate on how decisions are made and responsibilities are distributed within the group?
Excited to see an organization with such a track record get involved!
I am an Optimism delegate Delegate Commitments - #50 by NathanVDH with sufficient voting power and I believe Gauntlet should be included in the upcoming election.
We have worked with the Gauntlet team on a number of occasions and find their approach to be very professional and thoughtful, and believe they are well qualified to run in the Security Council elections.
Hi @gonna.eth, we appreciate you asking! Gauntlet operates with support from the whole team. The Governance Lead, @tnorm, handles the operational/communications aspects of the role.
When controversial proposals or security issues arise, Gauntlet’s Head of Security will coordinate and evaluate technical payloads with Gauntlet’s internal security, engineering, and risk members to reach a collective actionable decision and execute (or not execute) a Security Council transaction.
