Welcome to the preliminary phase of curation for the Pairwise Planets! This post serves as an early insight into the curation process, emphasizing the critical role of community feedback. Your insights are invaluable in shaping effective Pairwise Planets. Once the final curation is complete, we’ll share the definitive list of planets here, providing a three-day window for community feedback before they are integrated into the game.
In our review, certain applications stood out as ‘noisy,’ potentially skewing the clarity and focus of our Pairwise Planets. These were flagged based on a variety of criteria, most of which are outlined in the RetroPGF Round 3 Application Guidelines, and in detail on the Optimism Governance Forum. These include flags for issues such as advertising, spam, promises of future impact, insufficient information submitted, out of scope contributions, amongst others. We believe community insight is crucial in deciding their place in our ecosystem, so please indicate if there are concerns around currently flagged projects.
The script we’re utilizing for this curation process is designed to create categories that link projects with similar characteristics or ecosystem impacts. We start by populating and adjusting an initial list of categories based on the existing data set of applicants. The initial category list is then used to categorize project applications where they best fit. We are then able to manually adjust the categorization in a way that ensures all categories are the same size, within a couple of projects. By providing a suggested list of categories followed by a sorting of projects into the suggested categories, we ensure a systematic, objective approach to reviewing applications. The script’s detailed workings will be shared in a follow-up post, inviting community scrutiny and suggestions for refinement. If you are interested in exploring the code behind this script, the Github repository is here.
We are dedicating time until November 5th for community feedback. After that, we will submit the collections for Pairwise voting, as it will serve as an experiment for RetroPGF. During this period, we encourage you to review the preliminary list, reflect on the flagged applications, and provide your insights. Please discuss your feedback regarding the collections here. For projects flagged by the AI, refer to this existing post.
Stay tuned for the release of our final curation list, a cornerstone in the Pairwise Planets’ creation. This list, shaped by both our script and your feedback, will serve as the foundation for the diverse and dynamic worlds we’re building together.
Thank you for being a pivotal part of Pairwise Planets. Your voice shapes worlds. Dive in, share feedback, and together, let’s craft a universe unparalleled. Act now, and make a lasting impact.
