We received an OP builder grant from the last governance season we want to leverage attestation systems that Optimism grants and governance is using.
Does anyone know here where we can find more documentation on how attestations are used within Optimism grants council or within Optimism’s diverse governance systems?
After discussing with @Gonna.eth on the Optimism Discord, they suggested reaching out to you regarding attestations and how they are integrated into Optimism Governance.
As a grant recipient working on a project that aims to leverage Optimism Governance and the Grant systems, we’re keen to understand more about the planned usage of attestations within these systems. Specifically, we’re interested in:
What type of attestation scheme is used for Accepted grantees?
How are the attestations of projects and teams revoked if the grant is not completed?
What attestation is received and what scheme is used when a project successfully completes its grant, especially after the 12-month OP token incentive lock-up period?
Could you guide us to any resources or provide insights into how attestations will be used in these contexts? We want to ensure we’re aligned with the correct attestation framework as we move forward.
we are currently using attestations in the Retro Funding process when:
a project is created
an application is submitted
an application passes the eligibility review
a project receives rewards
we are not yet (but are planning to) use attestations in a similar way for Mission Grants. Of course, there will be some variance because Mission Grants follow a different process
I can’t make any commitments to a timeline for this, but it is a high priority. There are lots of dependencies on different tools and processes which makes it not the most straightforward change
