Hello Optimism community.
I’m MconnectDAO Manoj Kumar Desai a freelance governance researcher based in India.
I’ve been active on Arbitrum and Aave governance forums over the past week, focused on process accountability, conflict of interest transparency, and treasury decisions.
I come from an accounting and finance background not technical. But I’ve found that governance doesn’t require you to write code. It requires you to read carefully, ask questions, and pay attention consistently.
What brings me to Optimism specifically is the Citizens’ House model. The idea that governance power should reflect contribution not just token holdings is something I’ve been researching independently. Optimism’s two-house system is the closest real-world experiment I’ve seen to that idea.
Looking forward to learning from this community and contributing where I can.

Thank you @artespraticas really appreciate the warm welcome!
I’m looking forward to engaging meaningfully here. My immediate focus will be on understanding how the Citizens’ House operates in practice specifically how badgeholder selection, RPGF rounds, and accountability mechanisms have evolved across seasons.
Coming from a non-technical background, I believe the governance layer is where independent researchers like me can add the most value by reading proposals carefully, tracking patterns across voting cycles, and raising questions the community might overlook.
Happy to be here and learn alongside everyone. If anyone has suggestions on where to start key threads, active working groups, or governance calls I’d love to be pointed in the right direction.
