Amazing! Thanks for the update. As participants we do not need to fill out any profile information on Jokerace or add comments to our project do we ?
Is the list final ?
Aparently some round 3 retroPGF recipient have not been added.
Who they should contact to get this resolved ?
Thanks
Hey feel free to DM me their project and the wallet they are trying to use to vote. I can look through the list to see if there’s a discrepancy. I can’t update the list but can look to see what the issue might be.
DM you Lindsey, thanks!!!
Good luck to all the participants in the last day of the vote …!
We went all out with trying to reach out to folks.
It would be great if there was a little bit of assistance on social media from official outlets to help get the voters attention for the last 24 hours. We feel like that would make things a little bit more fair for all of the participants who didn’t get votes on the very bottom of the ranks and help create a spread at the top of the chart for the people who are competing against each other. Potentially stirring things up and making this a lot of fun for everyone.
It’s been a great race so far and we hope that a lot more people know about the voting platform itself.
Stay optimistic !! 2024 is going to be a great year.
Hey just a quick update. I have 3 people who have mentioned trying to vote and not being able to. While I see if there is if there is a solution to modify whitelist to let these people vote, I’l also be taking in their votes manually so that every approved RPGF recipient / badgeholder has a voice. Doesn’t seem to be a widespread issue but want to make sure every vote gets counted.
Hey @Lindsey, could you please tally up any votes that won’t be appearing on Jokerace here, so we have an idea of where the different teams are in the standings. There is only a small difference in the top 5 or so right now, so all teams should be aware of any ‘manual votes’ that don’t appear on Jokerace.
A more transparent process would be any non-whitelisted Badgeholders / Recipients signaling their votes and who they go to here on a public forum, with proof of status as Badgeholder / RPGF Recipient.
100% - There are no outside votes here thus far. When people message me I will be sending them here to share their votes. It’s only two potential voters atm. The third one was connecting the wrong address to vote.
On my side, Endaoment (Robbie Heeger) wasn’t able to vote and also Rodrigo Nunez. some found they were ineligible initially but then got it working later on. Definitely think you’ve compiled a valuable database for a decentralized and distributed jury, and we should update the excel to include those excluded.
I would vote against any off-chain votes being manually included, unless they post on their planned vote allocation before the deadline on this forum.
We need votes to be public like the others who have voted in the jokerace.
+1. Only public votes shared on the forum before time is up should be valid.
Funding the Commons, casting our vote for VoiceDeck!
Was unable to cast vote on Jokerace due to technical reasons.
Hey I know it’s late in the process, but please don’t go down a list and reach out cold to people asking for votes. Have had a couple of points of feedback that some outreach may be borderline spammy and not that’s not the outcome I want for this process. It’s on me 100% for selecting the criteria for voters, but let’s just do our part to be good to the Optimism voters here. Cheers!
voting is completed! A huge congrats to everyone that participated. Will prepare an announcement for tomorrow + reach out to the four teams that won as well as the two projects that were super close. I want to set up a group call with everyone that participated this last month and will aim to do it either Friday of this week or early next week.
For the winners, lets plan on setting up next steps tomorrow to allign expectations for the next few months, collect addresses for streams, and get things started!
Has been a great experience to build alongside everyone!
Thank you Lindsey for putting this program together!
We are still receiving messages from people saying they were not eligible to make a vote during the round.
This is concerning. Many voters who wanted to vote for us were not able to do so.
What is this arbitrary rule ???
This isn’t legitimate is it !
We are just adding our own rules into the contest last minute.
No votes beside the ones on Jokerace should be counted if they were not declared here at least 24 hours before the race ended.
This is ridiculous and should not be allowed.
@Lindsey is there any sort of due diligence post voting to ensure the process was completed without any pro quid duo exchanges to vote for their project ?
What sort of measures are being taken to determine if any sort of malicious behavior was involved to gather votes for this process such as bribery or ROI in exchange for an investment ?
Hi @FractalVisions - Thanks for sharing. I’m happy to review the people who had difficulty voting. From what I saw people who had difficulty were first trying to vote with their receiving wallet of the OP stream vs the official wallet they created their proposal with. It was only a couple of instances and I think mostly resolved. I know that’s frustrating still.
As far as your comment on the vote on forum vs JokeRace goes. It doesn’t appear that the one person who did share their vote here would have changed the outcome of the JokeRace. In their circumstance, they had difficulty voting with a Ledger and still wanted to participate. This is my first time running this thing and lots of lessons learned there.
As far as due diligence post voting, I don’t have any indication that there was anything malicious with how people decided their votes. I am of course open to hear anything that would change my mind.
As far as next steps, I was wanting to set up a call with the four winners as well as you and Stratagems who were close runners up. I don’t intend this grant to be an easy ride for recipients. We will have biweekly check ins, requirements to be active in OP governance, and accountability to make sure recipients are actively doing the work and using the grant effectively. If recipients do not do the work, I do think yourself and Strategems would be great recipients of the remaining grant allocations should someone not live up to their side of the deal.
Will message you to set up a call and see how I can help support you still as you build. Cheers!
We are not going to lie. It feels awful to be the 1st loser of a contest like this. This turned out to be a total momentum killer for our entire team after this contest and has left us in a bad state of mind.
This was a crucial moment for the launch & deployment of our platform. Which now has caused a giant shift in our plans for the coming months ahead.
The results of this contest are devastating to the immediate growth of impact driven initiatives from other small teams of builders who are joining the Superchain ecosystem through our platform. Many of which we have met through our time in the Gitcoin ecosystem over the past 3 years who are established in the real world and create meaningful impact on the ground through regenerative agriculture & financing.
There is a giant deficit in the coordination effort to help builders who are trying to help conserve or protect the environment. Which is something we see as a major problem with the way this technology is evolving because if we don’t fund the folks who take care of our planet there will not be any place left for us to use computers or the blockchain technology we are developing.
These grant programs are surely going to realize the systemic problems that exist in the world will not be solved with repeated funding for software development without there being some sort of fundamental value that creates a use case for the technology in the real world resulting in meaningful impact that changes the paradigm we currently live in. Otherwise who will want to use this technology if its only use case is related to financial services. The best way to predict the future is to help fund it.
Hopefully the Superchain can thrive throughout the future with many of these regenerative builders who struggle to gain the traction or support they deserve.
hey @Lindsey I would love to read a roundup with lessons learned, what worked what not. Interested to see what can be useful for the grants process in the future. Happy to chat, my dms are open.
