Agora Updates & Feedback thread

GM!

Do we have an update on this issue, if the cause has been identified and resolved?

Thanks.

Hey Team,

Any news on redelegation ?
Any news on delegate sorting mechanisms that provide info about the voting activity ?

thanks a lot.

Hey @latruite.eth , thanks for the questions!

As you know that redelegation was introduced back in January 2024 as a closed beta and we have about 20 people now using it regularly to vote.

The original plan in 2024 was to continue to roll it out, to more and more delegates but the Interop work put a pause in that plan.

Interop is a massive project that OP took on in 2024 with the goal of launching in 2025 to provide cross superchain liquidity for key token assets. During our spike of the project back in April this year it was clear that the Interop work-stream would have a serious impact on the Advanced Delegation (partial delegation and re-delegation) contracts and state. As we dove deeper into that workstream, it became clear that the advanced delegation state would indeed be reset as we looked to support Interop in the proper way.

Therefore, as we have started the Interop work, we didn’t want to bring in a ton of new users into the advanced delegation state, only to have that state get reset once Interop ships. Given that Interop governance has pushed out of the formal release for the V1 of Interop, we are working with the foundation to make sure that we don’t drop this work-stream but for now, we are waiting on more clarity before moving forward.

Delegate Voter Performance

We have a few features that we are working on that should add some accountability to https://vote.optimism.io

  • List of voters who have not voted on an active proposal
  • Badges for voters that are Top Delegates who are voting on more than 70% of proposals

These will be available to sort on in the delegate view as well. No timeline for these yet, but they are currently in design.

Happy to post to get some feedback from the delegates before we ship!

Re: Time discrepancy issue .

We’re estimating the time data based on the block number which can lead to slight discrepancies from the actual block timestamp. We have an item on our roadmap to start using timestamps instead but that requires significant surgery to Agora’s data layer.

The specific request that got brought up above has to do with the fact that Curia was using our old GRAPHQL API that we built in 2023. Our updated API, the REST based API found here: Agora API has more accurate data. However, this issue is only present for older proposals (before the Bedrock) and will not affect newer ones. In the longer term, we’ll be switching to using actual block timestamps instead of estimated timestamps.

Thanks for the feedback and keep it coming!

I’m here ve burayı ve optimismi anlamak üzerinde buradayım.
