The following reflects the views of L2BEAT’s governance team, composed of @kaereste, @Sinkas, and @Manugotsuka, and it’s based on their combined research, fact-checking, and ideation.
We voted FOR the proposal.
Given that the proposal is a technical upgrade, we consulted L2BEAT’s research team, and they helped us review the proposed changes and their effect. The upgrade focuses on three main changes:
- Introduction of interop-ready contracts, without, however, activating them.
- Removal of the Deputy Guardian role to keep the Stage 1 designation
- General maintenance, including an increment of the maximum safe gas limit from 200 Mgas to 500 Mgas.
We find all the changes sensible and welcome, and therefore we’re voting in favor of the proposal. We also shared a more detailed breakdown of the proposed changes as an X thread, which can be found here.
