Heya,
Iā€™m still confused about the scope of this. How are we able to support the Superchain with the current bridge specs? Afaik, this works only between the mainnet and OP mainnet (sorry for the misunderstanding if this is not correct).

The original idea was to build something that sits at the same level as the canonical bridge and works across L2s, and based on the feedback so far this should no longer be expected to happen/be supported.

Also based on the feedback so far, the actual scope can be described as:

  • deploy a factory for the xERC-20/7281 that implements OptimismMintableERC20
  • set up a github repo to document/map tokens deployed using the new factory

If the above is accurate, do we actually need a mission request for this?

I like seeing a good back and forth on the proposal. When it comes to smaller proposals, I lean towards approval for the benefit of experimentation.

The Grants Council has opened early submissions as an Indication of Interest for this mission request here

For your application to be considered, the Mission request must pass the Token House vote on February 14th. Submissions will not be considered if a Mission Request is not approved on the 14th.
