Kraken joins the Superchain
Kraken launches “Ink”, the latest chain to join the ranks at the Superchain together with Base, Unichain among more than 30 other chains. Ink will offer 1-second block times. Ink will launch its testnet in November, with Mainnet set to launch during 2025.
Fault Proofs are Coming to Base
Base will upgrade to a fault proof system on October 30th, furthering its decentralization. This will bring permissionless output proposals, meaning anyone will be able to make claims about Base’s current state instead of relying on a central party, and will also enable challenges to output proposals, meaning if makes a faulty or fraudulent claim, anyone can challenge it.

Governance News & Discussions
Collective Feedback Commission: The Next Iteration
The CFC will continue to involve members earlier in the governance design process. The new commission will be split into three different tracks, each with its own lead: Operational, Organizational, and Design Research. Additionally, a Commission Lead will manage the CFC operations and hold the Foundation accountable to executing on this Charter.
Up to 18 members will be selected based on relevant qualifications to each track. All selected members will be informed and must opt-in to participate. The new iteration will begin on November 4th.
Standard Rollup Charter
The Standard Rollup Charter with its latest updates, including history integrity checks moving to offchain tooling and added temporary control structures to a limited set of chains, will move to a vote.
Voting is available until October 30th.
Governor Update Proposal #3: Enable onchain treasury execution
This upgrade proposal updates the governance smart contract to allow the execution of token transfer proposals onchain directly. With it, transfer proposals will be executed automatically without relying on the Foundation. Non-treasury token transfer execution will continue to be overseen by the Foundation.
Voting is available until October 30th.
