Hi everyone
Last month, we proposed several evaluation algorithms to measure the impact of Dev Tooling and Onchain Builder projects. Thank you to everyone who reviewed, provided feedback, and voted on the algorithms!
Today, the first (of six) rounds of rewards for Season 7 Retro Funding were announced. Here’s the official post and you can view the results on OP Atlas
Tomorrow, the work of stress-testing and improving the algorithms begins.
Whether you’re a data nerd, a builder, a domain expert, or a Citizen with spicy takes, there are valuable ways for you to contribute.
Specifically, there are two concrete things you can do:
-
Open a GitHub issue: Head over to the Retro-Funding repo and open a new issue or comment on existing ones. We review these weekly and try to act on as many as we can. This is much more constructive than complaining on X.
-
Work on an issue: We are collaborating with the Numba Nerds to tackle many of the data science issues, but there are other issues that need help too. You can share your work in an issue thread or via pull request to the Retro-Funding repo.
There is still plenty of time to have your feedback and insights acted upon:
The approved budget for each Retro Funding Mission will be distributed evenly across the six designated measurement dates
Again, the measurement periods run from February to July 2025. We just did rewards for February impact.
Long-term, we want to see a competitive market for Retro Funding algorithms built on public, verifiable datasets. Everything you need to get started and test your own algo is available in the Retro-Funding repo.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the process or working with data!
