Thank you for submitting this grant application! Throughout the application process, this forum thread will be one of the official means of communication. Please be sure to monitor it for updates over the course of the review period.

At this stage, applications are mainly being reviewed for completeness, and nothing at this stage should be construed as support or opposition by any members of the Grants Council.

The current distribution plan of this grant falls afoul of the no-sale rule as described in this post:

Please read this post and, if desired, re-structure the grant in a way that follows those guidelines.

It may also be worth noting that your grants appears to be more in-line with the “builders subcommittee” category. You can see more information about the builders category here and the growth experiments category here in order to decide which is best.

Also, a general comment is that this grant appears to be doing A LOT of different activities. My advice would be to cut down the size of the grant and focus on one of the more specific aspects of it, such as running hackathons.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Hi @supercoolkay,

Thank you for responding to the feedback. However, it still appears like the post falls afoul of the no-sale rules. Can you provide more details in the distribution of OP for the categories that you mentioned?

Here is an explainer for the no sales rules:

All the best,

Thank you for your patience and support @Michael

Optimism Nigeria already set up a Quest](QuestN Portal) account. This platform will help in the distribution of OP token to members of Optimism Nigeria with some sort of prove of work to verify they’re human and active member of the community.

This way, the no-sales rule will be monitored and all distribution will be transparent.

We have also created a guild account for optimism Nigeria to prove token gating and keep track of activities and new members in our community.

I hope the above distribution means does not fall afoul to the no-sale rule. Please kindly let me know what your thoughts are. I am happy to receive your feedback and answer any more questions.

Further more, I won’t mind if I can schedule a meeting with you for further clarification.

I appreciate your time, guidance and comments on this proposal.

I look forward to receiving your feedback.

Thank you once again.

Best regards,

Hello @supercoolkay can you please provide some information on the current number of users for your project? This is important when assessing the potential reach of your proposal.

Is there additional information you can provide here?

This is very vague and needs to include timelines and clear, measurable KPIs.

Overall, this proposal really needs to include more detail around your users, team and milestone assessment. It’s difficult to make a clear assessment of your proposal with the information given.

Hey  thanks  for all the information :information_source:

I have also been speaking with a team from Nigeria about their proposal for another project.

I’m excited to see where this proposal ends up and know how big of an impact this will have in the community where you are located.

Near protocol seems to be pretty popular in the region and can see why so many people are excited about becoming a part of the Optimism ecosystem. This is an amazing opportunity in order to introduce folks to this technology and I appreciate all of your efforts.
