Hey, friends ā the update on the call, as we wanted @Jonas or somebody from the OP labs team and thereās an overload now with RetroPGF we decided to move it to January. Iāll keep you posted.
I am also agree with @OPUser
I know this Future Citizenship Selection Criteria has been here before now, nevertheless i feel to make my input anywhere;
- Alignment with Optimismās Vision
*Feedback: Ensure the criteria reflect Optimismās commitment to public goods, governance, and retroactive public goods funding (RPGF). Highlight specific actions or contributions demonstrating alignment with these principles.
*Suggestion: Incorporate a scoring system or qualitative review based on an applicantās involvement in RPGF-aligned activities or projects.
- Inclusivity and Diversity
*Feedback: The process should actively include underrepresented voices in Web3 and encourage participation from diverse geographies and demographics.
*Suggestion:Include a criterion to assess applicantsā potential to bring unique perspectives or bridge gaps in the ecosystem.
- Past Contributions
*Feedback: Prioritize applicants who have verifiable contributions to Optimism or similar ecosystems. Contributions should include both technical (e.g., code commits) and non-technical (e.g., community education) efforts.
*Suggestion: Use on-chain activity, governance participation, or community feedback as evidence of contributions.
- Community Engagement
*Feedback: Future citizens should have demonstrated an ability to foster collaboration and build within communities.
*Suggestion: Ask applicants to provide examples of community initiatives theyāve led or participated in, emphasizing outcomes and impact.
- Long-Term Commitment
*Feedback: Ensure that applicants are not just short-term speculators but committed to growing Optimism over time.
*Suggestion: Include a question about the applicantās vision for their role in the collective and a pledge for continued involvement.
- Scalability and Feasibility
*Feedback: The selection process should be scalable to accommodate growth without compromising quality.
*Suggestion: Implement a tiered approach where initial rounds are automated (e.g, weighted scoring) and final selections involve qualitative evaluation by community representatives or stewards.
- Transparency and Feedback
*Feedback: Transparency in the selection process is critical to build trust in the collective.
*Suggestion: Publish anonymized selection metrics and reasoning for acceptance or rejection. Offer constructive feedback to rejected applicants to encourage future applications.
- Dynamic Updates
*Feedback: The selection criteria should evolve as the Optimism ecosystem matures and adapts to new challenges.
*Suggestion: Create a periodic review mechanism where the community can propose and vote on changes to the criteria.
Given that future Citizenship will be based on reputation attributes gathered through attestations, what specific types of on-chain or off-chain contributions are currently being considered the most valuable for earning Citizenship ā and how can new community members start building that reputation today in alignment with Optimismās values?
Iām excited about becoming a citizen and building community around irl meetups and events online and in person in Vegas, Denver, Miami, Philadelphia, Austin, and beyond!
Great to see you here! Letās work!
Iād love to become a Citizen and be an advocate for Trans and older people over the web3 space. In the middle of such downturn for the peopleās rights and self determination weāre seeing at the moment, think that thge Optimism vision would perfectly align with freedom and protecting minorities against discrimination⦠Best to all and that the future comes fast!!
Cool I wanna do it. What is the process ?
