- I added new contract addresses for the mainnet contract release that can be reviewed in our OP-program RC for Holocene: Release op-program/v1.4.0-rc.3 · ethereum-optimism/optimism · GitHub.

The Developer Advisory Board has reviewed this proposal.
As @Dragan_ZzZ mentioned in his initial post, the loosened restrictions are both (a) only able to happen if the sequencer misbehaves in a way that has not happened on OP Mainnet or other mainnet OP Stack chains and (b) would be automatically resolved by the batcher.
The Failure Modes and Recovery Path Analysis doc address the specific risks in a way that sufficiently avoids any possible downside risk from these changes.
The MIPS contracts upgrades were audited by 3DOC (the winner of the OP Fault Proof contest) with no issue is identified.
For these reasons, the DAB approves this proposal to move to a vote.

The Season 6 DAB will provide approvals! We should move to a standard where Councils / Boards / Commissions operate until the next Season’s team is elected. The Milestones and Metrics sub-committee has already been operating this way.

We’re voting FOR the proposal.
After reviewing the breakdown of the changes by the Developer Advisory Board and having our research team look into them as well, we believe the upgrade is safe to implement. We are aware of the fact that the code doesn’t have any 3rd party audit, but as @zachobront, the S6 DAB lead, has pointed out, there is no big issue with the lack of audit given the scope of the changes.
However, we would like to amplify voices already raised in this thread that it might be useful to at least revisit our policy regarding the need for 3rd party audits for code upgrades.
