Hey everyone :wave:, I’m Danyal, Tech Lead for the Base Infrastructure team and a contributor to the OP Stack ecosystem. Over the past 18 months, I’ve shipped protocol improvements across multiple hard forks and built infrastructure tooling adopted by multiple chains including Base and OP Mainnet.

As someone who leads a technical team and regularly interfaces with both internal and external stakeholders, I bring both the engineering depth and people assessment skills that are crucial for the Foundation Mission Team role. My experience spans from low-level protocol engineering to high-stakes technical decision-making and partner evaluation.

Protocol Contributions
I’ve been deeply involved in several OP Stack hard forks:

  • Canyon
    • Enabled Shanghai EVM features (PR)
  • Ecotone
    • Designed and implemented the L2 system contracts upgrade process for hardforks (PR, PR)
    • Enabled Cancun EVM features (PR)
  • Fjord
    • Updated the L1 fee cost function, ensuring accurate fee recovery for OP-Stack chains (PR, PR)
    • Added support for RIP-7212, improving passkey signing efficiency (PR, PR)

Ecosystem Contributions
Developed open-source infrastructure tooling that has been used by multiple chains in the superchain:

  • Blob Archiver: Created a service to preserve blob data, enabling chain operators to maintain complete historical verification capabilities
  • Replayor : Designed a benchmarking tool that validates network scaling decisions through replaying historical and synthetic transactions, enabling Base and OP to safely increase gas limits

Engineering Leadership
As Tech Lead for Base Infrastructure:

  • Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for Base’s roadmap
  • Lead technical evaluations of potential partnerships and integrations
  • Oversee technical team development and project execution
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration between internal teams and external partners

My combination of deep technical expertise, proven leadership experience, and ecosystem-wide perspective positions me well to evaluate both technical merit and team capabilities for Foundation missions.
