# S7 Developer Advisory Board Communication Thread

The Developer Advisory Board was initiated in Season 5. Its goal is to support the collective’s technical decision making — increasing the quality of grants, providing the community unbiased perspectives on protocol upgrades, and otherwise serving as a technical resource for the community.

Personal news: As a part of joining on as a cofounder of [Etherealize](https://x.com/Etherealize_io/status/1896955342816473121), I will need to step away from any roles that could get in the way of my neutral and unbiased view of the L2 landscape.

Unfortunately, that means I’ll need to step down as the DAB Lead.

The DAB is working internally to finalize new roles, and I will post an update here by end of day to confirm the new structure.

The DAB has discussed internally, and the team will be reorganized as follows:

- Ed (@wildmolasses) will take over as DAB Lead.
- He will additionally remain in his other roles through the end of the season.
- This change will officially take place in 7 days, per the [Collective Representative Structure Framework](https://gov.optimism.io/t/collective-representative-structure-framework/5884).

Ed is extremely capable and I don’t foresee any interruptions to the DAB’s operations.

Thanks for allowing me this chance to serve the OP ecosystem. It’s been a lot of fun.
